Nice looking knife. but one question isn't v3 hard to sharpen in the field or am I thinking of a different steel?

Scott-
It is slightly more difficult to sharpen than 01 or 1095 but its' edge stability is much better. It is more chip resistant. 3V is nowhere near as hard to sharpen as some of the super steels like M390 or S90. I am able to maintain my 3V edges with just occasional stropping. Inside of a belt would work in the field or I have heard stropping on blue jeans works. I use my knives for normal kitchen duties and camp chores like whittling and fire making. Feel free to send any other questions my way.

For whatever it's worth too, I have a 3v machete from Chris in the same stock thickness, and I've been using it in the yard a lot lately. I touched it up the other day, and it was quite easy with some Spyderco ceramic rods and some green compound on a strop. It would shave hair after the Spyderco rods, I just wanted to give it a little more. Wasn't much work though.
