Bushcrafter pics

Damn...i really want a bushcrafter senior now. looks like a fat version of an Arete.

That's what threw me off last Friday. Thought it was an funky looking Arete and read through the thread for a while before scrolling down. Also Ken listed it with the large knives instead of the BCs. Won't happen again! :D Wasn't crazy about the terracotta anyway, but I sure liked the TT curly koa one esdunbar snagged a few weeks ago. I needs me one of those Sr.BC!

You know, I keep coming back to this thread and oogling everything. That red shadetree of Comprehensivist's is one I couldn't pull the trigger on it fast enough (I think that was the one from several weeks ago). The thread has sealed the deal....I'm starting a Bushcrafter collection! Look out sharks. :)

I'm reviving this thread. I'm keeping to my word and I'm making progress. Current collection shown below with the exception of one that is at the spa and one inbound on a trade. Also, the firearm thread stimulated a pic request for closeups on the Sr. BC in curly Koa that esdunbar was gracious enough to offer up.

Phil, I think you will see the change you were talking about with the angle in the last two pictures.

You have the Master collection of Bushcrafters going there Phillip. Your original Slate blue G10 stills rocks, the new Ruby burlap with predator (or Patrick's clover) pin-out looks great, but the star of the set to me is the Koa Bushcrafter Sr. That wood is my favorite.

Thanks for the bump & update. We'll done!

Phil

Yep, it's getting there. Fairly representative of pin patterns, handle materials, blade thicknesses, blade length, tangs, steels and finishes. It will be even better when the other two get here. The one I'm looking for now is a 5/32 box elder burl, TT with lime or blue over black, black pins and trinity pinout or the same thing in sapphire, emerald, evergreen or black shadetree. I'd pay a pretty penny for any of those, but I have a feeling they will be hard to get regardless of what I'm willing to offer. ;)

I love that curly Koa Sr. and the ironwood. They are both absolutely stunning. I was surprised to see the stainless tuxedo in your other thread. That is the first stainless bushcrafter I remember seeing. Very nice. I would not mind having one like that. Or the other two, or the slate, or many of the others in the firearms thread...
Why don't you post a collection photo so I can look, admire and just cry.

M4Super90, that Curly Koa is crazy awesome! I first was drawn to it by Vance's Karda and Runt, but the stuff on your BC Sr is the cream of the crop!!

Not to spam my humble bushcrafter collection I feel its fair that I provide more fitting shots of them seeing that I recently spa'ed all of my knives (not that I don't LOVE me some patina), and both of these examples deserve a "clean" pic!

Why does everyone's Fiddlebacks look so much nicer than mine?

I think I need to send my entire collection to someone else so they can photograph them and post them!

Man I love this knife!!!!
Mine was a rather simple one, 5/32 tapered tang O-1 with olive drap canvas micarta scales with orange liners, but damn I liked that knife a lot. It was one of the things this past winter costed me that really annoyed me. With any luck I can snag another in the same handle config some day.

It has been awhile since we have bumped the Bushcrafter thread and I am sure that there are some new ones out there. Let’s see some photos of what you got.

The Desert Ironwood below is my newest one from a couple of months ago.

Great collection Phil -- the DI Burl CPM154 bushcrafter is just stunning; the "oreo" shade tree one still holds top contention as one of the prettiest bushcrafters I have ever seen!

Here a newer user of mine that just got cleaned up for some pics; a very cool "one off" that has just been a joy to use! The full height grind is near perfect and the bead-blasted OD micarta is totally functional in just about any condition

Phillip,
The one third from the right is just downright phenomenal; is it black ash burl?! Great pics as always!!

California Buckeye burl. It's also 3/16 TT. Didn't think I would like that thick of a blade, but it's really starting to grow on me.

Will, I love the look of that blasted OD with natural pins. The tapered tang adds a touch of class to a solid working knife. I like the color of the Heber sheath also for that knife. Very nice!

Phillip, what more can be be said about the Alpha collection of BC's. You have an eye for the exceptional ones.

Here's one of my favorites in CPM-154: Desert Ironwood over black g10 w/ white pinstripe
