I'd be interested in what kinds of foods your family ate in addition to the blade that is specific to your particular area. I'm planning a trip down that way in the next couple years to travel around and see the different parangs/bolos from Southeast Asia. Before I get to that, I am heading back to Guyana next year. Lots of monkeybusiness is in the works.
