Hi! I was trying to work out the difference between this two (there is no difference in the photos) and asking a seller I got this answer : These two have different handles i.e. one is hollow and the other solid. ... is this true?
Many thanks!

Uh.... I guess that posting the pictures will really help... I can't see anything!

They have different blades.
Here are the descriptions from searching the Cold Steel web site:

BOWIE BLADE BUSHMAN $29.99
Specifications: Weight: 9.8 oz. Blade Thickness: 3/32" (2.5mm) Blade Length: 7" Handle: Hollow Steel: SK-5 High Carbon Overall Length: 12 1/4" Sheath: Cordura 95BBUS ...

BUSHMAN $29.99
Specifications: Weight: 10.1 oz. Blade Thickness: 3/32" (2.5mm) Blade Length: 7" Handle: Hollow Steel: SK-5 High Carbon Overall Length: 12 1/4" Sheath: Cordura 95BUSC ...

Yes there is a difference between the old Bushman and the new Bowie ... but if you will follow the link you will see that between 95BUS and 95BUSC (and not BBUS) things are not that obvious ...

Somebody fill me in. I don't see a difference.
(Between the BUS and the BUSC.)

That's because the vendor posted the wrong pics.

This is what the two blades actually look like:

The Bowie is 95BBUS ... but on the market you can find the code 95BUS and 95BUSC for the standard blade ... and the price is usually different ... Why?

Yeah....I noticed that...What gives???

because FU's happen.
Vendor's got a lot of knives. The code numbers are off by one digit. Very easy to make a mistake. It is not unusual to find errors on websites.

Caveat emptor!

I hate to take this any further ... but this is not a typo mistake .... a lot of other different sites have those two codes ... is not an internal code but comes from Cold Steel ...

Any Bushman owners here? is the handle 100% round or there is a gap where the metal is bent?

I took my info and my photo from the Cold Steel web site. I figure that if anybody knows what the knives are supposed to be, it's the manufacturer.

I note that CS has a suggested retail price of 29.99 for each blade. Since the price we see on the resale websites is whatever the vendor wants to charge, I do not see a discrepancy in the pricing.

Most of the better vendors can be contacted and asked to perform a hands-on check of exactly what it is that they are proposing to sell you. From all the mismatched info, I sure would call your vendor to ask them to do that for you.

I read somewhere on the forums that the Bowie Bushman is made in China. The older Bushman and Mini-Bushman were made in Taiwan. Is it possible that Cold Steel has now changed production on the regular Bushman from Taiwan to China, and that would explain the "C" in "95BUSC"?

I suspect that the 95BUS is the older, made in Taiwan version, and the 95BUSC is possibly the newer, China produced version of the same knife.

Sounds like a reasonable answer to me.

There is a gap; a hole, at the forward end of the hollow handle where the ricasso begins.
Or, do you mean where the seam is welded when they made the handle?

I was interested in the seam - it is welded or not? I've seen photos with some welded some not; could it be possible to have the difference here or is just the angle of taking the photo?

I know this sounds nuts, but I don't see a seam in mine. I know it has to have one, but there is no seam. I don't get it. Unless, they ground the seam down so it's real smooth, then covered it with the black coating. But, I don't think so.

Maybe, despite the description, the 95BUS is the old code for the bushman with the leather sheat and the 95BUSC with the cordura?
Just a gues?

It's pretty obvious looking at these photos--look at the orientation of the blades. The latter one is for cutting things beneath you, and the former is for cutting things above your head.

Interesting bit about the seams. All the one's I've seen had obvious, non-welded seams. Pretty neat that they seem to have eliminated that.
