As it came out of the bleach...30-45 mins.

That greenish tint seems to be an effect of the light...pity, as I think it looks cool.

As you can see the etching is not very deep, I had hoped for more. two things may have caused this in addition to the time soaking. First prior to this etch attempt this blade was stripped and treated with a rust preventer. Then a few months later it was given a pretty nice sanding/polishing (I had thought I had pictures but don't it seems)

I don't know if the treatment had any thing to do with tha lack of depth of the etch or not.

Second, I used Perma blue instead of super blue, it was all a saw on the shelf.

In the end I re-treated the blade with the rust preventer as this knife lives in a pack and is seldom looked after.
I still have plans for the handle and a better sheath.

Bottom line it was a fun and interesting.
