I think this thing has replaced the NMSFNO as my favorite big Busse. I'll have to use it a bit more to know for sure, but so far it's edging out my former favorite.
For only a 13 gram increase over the NMSFNO (593 vs 606g), the BWBM has an extra two and a half inches of blade, chops just as well, probably better, and has a more lively balance in hand, making it better for brush clearing and machete-like duties.
The only thing I find better about the NMSFNO is the more comfortable hand-shaped micarta handles, and the lack of the severe downward curve at the rear talon holes, which gives the classic Busse Pinky when chopping. For the extra length and essentially no weight penalty, I will GLADLY take that trade-off.
The Bushwacker might be the best big Busse I've ever seen or held. And since it's available in combat grade with simple micarta handles, it's a brilliant user knife.
If you camp, hike, or build fires, you should have one of these knives
