hey guys, i'm in dire need of new business cards but i won't get them untill i have professional pictures taken of a knife for the front of the card.
but i'm sure exactly what i should do for a knife.

you guys have all seen my style... some tactical some classic styles. but i don't want to give the wrong impression and throw a tactical neck spike on the front and everyone will think i'm all weekend warrior tactical preparedness guy.

but i don't want to put a nice ivory handled damasteel piece on there and have someone thinking that i don't make basics... is there a way to get around this?

i was thinking a double sided card... same knife tactical skeletonized on one side and then the same profile dressed up either damascus or a nice satin finish with stabilized burl or something on the other side.

think that would be too flashy? thanks a lot in advance guys. you rock!

...untill i have professional pictures taken

Im currently waiting for my phone to ring to hear you begging for my forgiveness, you two-faced rat!

I thought you were above having someone else do that kind of stuff for you!

WEASEL!!!!

...I still can't hear my phone ring...

:D:D:D:D

Why bother getting cards made when your knives suck so bad!
And on the same note...you STINK!
Mace;)

The 2-sided card is a good idea. You might also consider a "foldover" style card. I like them for a couple of reasons.1) A foldover card has less of a tendency to get lost in a pile of cards or on a desktop, because the folded over front creates a "springy" effect - it sort of creates a little bit of space around itself. For example, lets say you go to your favorite restaurant and drop your card in a container to enter a drawing for a free dinner. A foldover card, because of a thicker cross section and some "springiness" will tend to separate iteself from other cards around it. 2) A foldover is an uncommon type of card, and as such tends to make more of an impact. 3) If well designed, they are, for lack of a better term, very classy. 4) You can get more images and information on a foldover - they give you more room to advertise. Just make sure that the foldover portion of the card ends between halfway and 3/4 of the way down the other, flat, portion of the card. Put your logo and one background image on the foldover portion, and another background image and other information on the inside of the card. You might even use the back of the card as well. Just my 2 cents worth on business cards. I think that a business card is an underestimated way of advertising.

I have wallet sized prints made at Costco. This gives me 4 pics per page. I then print my info on the back with a laser printer (inkjet will not dry). Then cut them out. This gives me a little more freedom in the picture I use. I take most of them myself and have current cards on the table matching the knives i have. That way the potential customer can say I like that knife and can remember who made it.

Michael if you are still need cards and photo work of knives done send me an email; I'm a photographer and graphic designer.

My thinking would be to put a photo of your very nicest fancy knife out there. Most people will assume if you can do fancy you should be able to do anything
