I have the opportunity to buy a Busse AK for $800 or a Swamp Rat Waki for $500. Tell me which one you would choose and why? I can't decide so I would like like to hear other opinions. I know INFI and SR101 are both outstanding as I have a load of both. Thanks guys!

AK. INFI.

Really though, that's why I'd go with the AK... the waki is probably tougher than you'll ever need. And the AK is tougher than that.

Or you could get both. :D

I have two Waki's, a standard and a custom shop satin. I LOVE THEM both, but I'm still lusting after an AK because:
1 - Longer blade. Given the availability of the Rucki I wish the Waki had a 18.5" blade.
2 - It's INFI.
3 - They're harder to find, and there aren't any more blanks for a custom shop AK right now.

Grab the AK and a Rucki and you're covered! :D

Waki. SR101 has 90% of the performance on INFI at 60% of the price.

With the $300 you save, you can buy another knife.

Don't know about the Waki but I was in your situation a couple of years back..... Called Lexi about the possibility of having an AK made. Busse still had a few blanks. Had one made in satin finish with black G10 scales. It's a great toy!!! My first INFI and the longest of the three bussekin in production at the time. 18 1/2 in. It Is good reach for tight work, if that kind of thing is important to you. Personally, I cleared a large garden that was out of control with it. I also had a good quality machete that was razor sharp. Never thought the AK would be as good as a machete, but it was.

I like the fact that it is a functional work of art. It's tough. I'll never sell it, or my two other infi knives that I've gotten since.
Get the one that calls to you the most ..... Busse, Swamp Rat, Scrapyard ( I've got the Skizzy) great quality products all around .... Ya can't loose.

OMG!!!! I've just become a fan boy!!!!!

Come on in, the koolaid's fine!

I recently acquired a Waki and very much so like it. I wish it was longer and know the AK is a little longer. If you can get a AK for 800.00, that is a real good price as one from the custom shop will cost more, as I have checked with Garth on this one. There is a waiting list also so, there is strong demand for the AK that still exist so if you get it and decide it's not for you, you can easily sell it without fear of losing any money.
I plan on getting a AK, and will not part with my Waki, if that is any help!

I picked up a pumpkin waki a while back and thought the length difference between it and an AK were more traditional so I wanted an AK too but after looking at the pics the AK blade only looks to be an inch or two longer which doesn't make it what I was looking for. An AK 4 - 6 inches longer would be a different story.

Oilman,
How about the new AK - Tana. We need a death chant!
Make it Mr. Busse, I will commit to buy right here and now. : )

If it's a longer, but not too long, AK I'm in. Is this already in the works?

Yep, not enough of a difference in blade length from the Waki..

Yup, that's the one that's way too long. Split the difference between that and a Waki and it would be right for me.

I love all of my swords. You really can't go wrong. As Voracious said, the Waki is a little faster. I would never let the AK leave our possession, we used it in our wedding ceremony. I want to send my Waki in for black coating and pink G10 handles though and the other Rucki I got from the exchange for pink G10 handles also.

The Waki has a heavier handle which makes the tip faster. It also grips a little better I think. I still like the AK more though.

that's a pretty tuff call. I'd just go ahead and get both. saves you the trouble of that big decision.

....I concur OilMan.....mmmmm..... Another busse sword? Where's my wallet?
Being an old traditional fencer I'd also like to see Busse make a small sword. Thin blade, both sides sharpened and quick in hand.... One can always hope:rolleyes:
