BUSSE and BLADE WEST

My Wife and I are currently talking about the route.

Seems a nice drive to go from the Klamath Falls area over to the coast then North to Portland, a day or possibly two at the Show then East along the Mighty Columbia past The Dalles to the 97 where there is a Full sized replica of Stone Henge built just after WWI then south to a big hole in the ground then back home.

Not real sure just what to bring, I will prolly bring at least a few, maybe more.

Not sure if Friday and Saturday, or just Saturday at this time.

I'll be there all weekend, is there any knives that I have that some of you guys going would like me to bring to see?

Tim,
Some of us are not as familiar as others with your collection. Are there a couple threads from the past you could point out to me to catch up. Then perhaps I would have a request. :)

I don't remember any specific thread that I could refer to, I mostly have just older Busse junk, but do have a few new ones, email me a list of what you might like to see and I'll look to see if I have one. :D

Blade West isn't in Vegas because it never was!! It was moved from California.

oh, yah, that's right Ontario, CA, another industrial hole of shizle. I guess the Blade West organizers have their heads up somewhere.:D

vegas is best.

For the folks that have never been to our fair city before:

The location of Blade West is not in any way indicative of the rest of the Portland:)

I have to admit, it is depressing and one of the least scenic locations I could think of to hold it.

Not to mention it is a total waste land for food and drink.

Portland is still WAAAAAAAAY better than Ontario CA!

I understand that it's more than a bit difficult to get the "finer venues" in Portland because they are booked years in advance. Additionally, I think BW needs to outgrow the current venue in order to justify moving.

It doesn't compare to Blade in size, but there is no reason it can't be at least the size of the Eugene show in a few years. The reason I think its small now is that it was in Ontario almost long enough to kill it...Please, help with the recovery!

BTW, yes, all 3 days. No idea where my table is yet but hopefully close!

the fact that Ontario is 3 hours from Las Vegas makes it much nicer in m book:D

Portland does have the highest number of breweries per capita though!

You can make it a Blade and Beer expedition!

Well if we go by Alcohol, then Blade West should go further West until it gets to Scotland.:D

I thought it was the strip bars we were going there for:confused: or was Skunk just trying to get me to show up?

I have it from a very good source that the promoters are flying in early this year to check out different venues - in the Portland area.

The current venue isn't the Ritz, but once the show starts growing the show management can consider a new venue. (by the way, the hotel isn't bad either, the location is just a little "industrial")

Also, new this year is a near by mini-mall type place with eating establishments, stores and a free hotel shuttle. (Which by the way, is always free - if you want to get downtown from the hotel, take the shuttle to the airport and hop the train. It's easy and very inexpensive)
