Busse and Fällkniven vs the rest

I own several Busse's, have owned many Bark Rivers, have several ESEE's, only a couple of Fallknivens and a few customs. They are all fantastic, well most of those. Its all subjective and opinions will vary.
My favorites are ESEE and Busse.

As secretive as the OP's testing methods may be, and the pseudoscientific claims of expertise that "20 years of knife ownership and use" may bring....

Ah, true say. You're right on the money there, methinks.

What a ridiculous and presumptuous post. I love Bladeforums but stupid posts like these just ruin it.

Is there no knife brand out there that can compet against
the two? I mean they have been the best for some time now
would be fun to hear about something else. Sure there
are other superb brands(swamprat, fehrman etc etc) but not in their leauge or ?!

They are defenetely best among their fans. If you read Busse forum - that what you will hear. And of course in among that circle there are no any better knives which can really compete.

If you ask me - Busse - average performance with exceptional sexy design (which make them irresistable for many who do not care too much about edge holding), while Swamp Rat offer excellent performance and similar design. Fallkniven - just average knives made in Japan.

There are many brands same or better - Bark River, Fehrman, ESEE, Kenetsune, Roselly... For the same price tag Busse has I rather go with Dozier.

Thanks, Vassili.

My first folders that were not from Academy was Spyderco. I thought the $80 I spent on my first was crazy. I then bought a Cricket. That was it for me, two superb folders that can't be beat. 5 years later, I had some money saved up and I can't recall why, I wanted another knife, but not a folder. I began looking at the Spyderco fixed blades until I ran into this forum and someone mentioned Chris Reeves and Busses and so on..... Chris Reeve was more readily available on the knife.com online sites. I finally bought my first Chris Reeve knife, the Mountaineer 1 for $200, I was really spending money. Unfortunately it would take the company another 6 weeks to make and deliver the knife. So, I was curious and began looking at the Busse knives. $400 or $600 for a knife, now that was crazy, but the reviews were too much for me so I bought a smaller and the most inexpensive knife they had, the SAR 3 for approximately $220. That was it for me. So I waited and I received both the same day in the mail. If you had asked me that day, I would say Chris Reeve beat Busse out of the water b/c the SAR 3 was as dull as a butter knife. Now, this was just first impressions and my first Busse knife. Later I found out it was one of the inspectors not doing their jobs and Busse quickly fixed it. When I got the Busse SAR 3 back, it was slicing through paper much better than the Chris Reeve. I ended buying two more Busse knives, but the larger, which I think is where Busse shines with their INFI and toughness. I bought a large camping knife, Busse BWM and the best chopper in the market, NMFBM.
Chris Reeve and his fixed blades are great too. The quality and lifetime guarantee with their customer service can't be beat and I may get another down the line. In the end, both companies make fantastic knives and yes its worth the price. When you buy one or two high end knifes, you can't help but to appreciate the quality. Even if I'm not cutting with either smaller fixed blade, I'm holding it just for the quality and feel. I know with the smaller and larger fixed blades along with the Spyderco folders, I'll be passing those knives to my kids. fThere are too many good knives out there, but from my experience Busse and Chris Reeve have turned out to be excellent fixed knives worthy of their price.

I am a United Cutlery fanboy. They offer the most bling and the most shine for the money. And I love those cool fantasy blades. Seriously, for display blades, they are likely the best bang for the buck. For hard use, the Beckers, ESEEs, Ontario Rangers, and Condors are good. For traditional materials and hand workmanship, I like the Bark River knives. For knives built insanely tough, you can't beat Busse Combat. I'm sure the Fallknivens are right up there, but I only have the F1. But for everyday use, the Buck folding hunter seems to get the job done. Buck has sold millions of them. But everybody knows a Benchmade is better. My point is that there is no one best brand for all users. Affordability is always a factor. And most of us will never chop concrete blocks with our knives.

Looking for a comparative review on the Fallkniven F1 VG10 preferably, or F1 3G AND a Busse equivalent (E.g. the Ltd Ed. Busse Street Combat, but with INFI steel only)? I don't know anything about Busse's, learning, but, according to Ross's destruction tests Busse was the ONLY knife in the world to better the A1. A1 is acclaimed as the best survival knife in the world. At first glance the Busse's Ltd Ed. Street Combat (not something I'd like publicized on the blade if I'm carrying legally while hunting and ever pulled up) looks like its more user friendly than the Fallkniven F1 because the Busse has a flat grind, thinner blade. Busse's drop point design also makes it a great hunting and skinning knife and good for general outdoor and utility use. Learned thoughts appreciated...
