Busse and kin companion

I like the LM Supertool 200 (the 300 is a little big). I think the 200 had higher QC and are built better.

Might have to check out a Charge Ti

I also use a LM Charge TTi. It's a great multitool, well stocked esp. the small cutting-hook on the end of the serrated blade - works great for fishing line, string, etc. and you don't need to fully deploy the blade to use it! The micro-screwdrivers are also a boon, as are the scissors, and the diamond file can touch up nicks in other tools. The knives, saw, and file are all accessible on the outside and every tool locks in place. There are detachable lanyard ring and pocket-clip, features I've not seen on other multitools.

Downsides: my new charge (received when I had the first warrantied) is packed/screwed too tightly, making it very difficult to deploy the tools inside without a mechanical pry (I keep my fingernails short and they are nowhere near strong enough to get the tools out). WD40 has not helped... I'd hate to send it in again, but I'm reaching that point of resolve....

I've heard good things about the Gerbers, perhaps I'll try one of them instead.

I carry a Leatherman Core but I am going to replace it with a 300.

I really like the LM Wave but thanks to this thread I will be getting the Charge Ti for the up grade to S30V steel.

Wave.

Got it in 98/99, when they were first out and it's still pulling duty as my main needlenose. Thinking of sending it back to the leatherman spa in Portland...

The first Waves are built much better then the waves today. As a warning if you have anything on the Wave that can't be fixed they will replace it with a new one. So you might not be getting what you want.

Of coarse you can sign something saying just shop back the old one if you can't fix it.

CS at LM is top notch and they make a great product.

Good advice, i was thinking of having it "tuned up" on the plier pivots, and the main non-serrated blade replaced.

It has sentimental value, so i'll ask for the same one back.

Thanks for the info, i wouldn't have thought of that.
