BUSSE AND STRIDER; 2 great names -- have a favorite?

Been reading this thread and feel that I have to comment.Taz, Thank you ,Holy crap!!...You mean, They were sitting there with there buddies,Who they may have not seen in awile?Telling stories!!!having a good time???and Drinking Beer!!thank God you alerted me,I might have heard an off color remark !......You know something,I really do'nt think I need you to say whats acceptable, and whats not.One thing I've noticed,is that since Strider started to become populer, every couple of weeks someone come's along and says ,that they don't like the Strider attitude(ie.the Mick, the Vinnie thread, ect.},of course it'ent about the knives, its always about how they did'ent act,the way some Pouge thinks they should.I guess the world should revolve around you??.....well it ain't happen!.Taz if you eventuly leave school and start working, then let us know what a "real operator" is like. This post started out a question by Francmeister so I'd like to address that.Franc I like the Strider,it fits Me and what I like in a knife.Like alot of guys have said on this Forum, they are both great knives.A knife is a personal choice,so pick the one that you think suits you,you can't go wrong with ether one.

...Hope this doesn't turn into some flame a thon.... just wanted to hear peoples thought on the pros and cons of each.... I love em both.

From my original post. I guess I anticipated the risk of a flame a thon....didn't expect it would take this turn. Does anybody have any comparitive comments??? (Other than no doubt having seen Jerry Busse in Church last week, giving alms to the poor and fasting for greater spiritual insights  while the Strider guys were pillaging small villages, offering animal sacrifices and barbecuing endangered animals....)

Ronin, i refered to my trackand field stuff for a reason, people seem to think that if you are not Spec Op, you dont know stress. Did i mention that in tyhe events i do, if you are about .5 second off either way, people can get killed? Why do you think the hammer is banned in many states?? Going home and sulk? Funny. considering i kicked the vast majority of the peoples ass with no coaching, and little time practicing, i was very happy. I also beat the kid who placed 5th the year before with a sprained ankle. i am not suling i didnt medal, because i went there and showed many of the guys what i can do. Whats worth more than a medal? Respect of your peers.

Look at YOUR holier than thou attitude, Ronin. And since I do not know if these guys r reps or actual strider guys, since they havent responded, i dont know that they did serve or not.
When people are in the public eye, and behaving like this, they open themselves up to the comments. Maybe im the first one with some balls who isnt afraid to say something.

Ronin, YOU havent earned the right to judge me either, so STFU. go back to the strider forum, pop a beer and have fun. Dont tell other people what they can or cannot do, and dont judge other people.

All you people with your real op talk can jsut leave. The issue of whether its strider or reps hasnt been solved yet, so u have no idea if they are ops or not. If you cant take honest criticism, dont get you panties in a bunch. Dont go whining because some people, actually many, disagree with your favorite knife company actions in public. if they want to do this stuff in public, so be it, but also let it be known that some people dont put up with this garbage. Obviously, the Strider guys still havent shown up to discuss this matter, but their boys from the forum have shown up to try to bash and flame me, and it aint working guys. I doubt that EVERYONE at the Timonium show was "an old buddy" and that is an explaination for their actions. they were immature and showed a lack of respect, IMHO. If you dont like that, you can BITE ME.

this has nothing to do with popularity. i voiced my opion of what i saw, they werent just talking to buddies, unless the whole show was their buddy. if you cant stand to hear someone have a LEGIT complaint on someone, and you feel you must insult, GROW UP. Attitude isnt really the problem, its their immaturity and lack of respect.

Frac, i apologize for the post taking this turn. i feel that how the people of the company act in public can be a pro or con, and i voiced my opinion. you asked for pros and cons. I was willing to leave it at that, but then other people started to get on my back about it, so i responded to them. I get sick and tired of people acting like little babies and spoiled brats, thinking they can do whatever they want and not get called on it, and when they do, they get others to fight their battles for them. Others here couldnt handle criticism, and jumped all over my back, even when it wasnt aimed at themselves. I am merely defending myself and POV from the people here, who obviously have nothing better to do with their lives that ridicule people. As of now, i will stop posting to this thread. If anyone wishes to continue it further, email me.

I love the Busse Hatchet -- it would be GREAT to see a Strider hatchet. And a Busse folder is WAY overdue.

NOW, If I can just say it and make it so....VOILA!
(I'll have that Busse Folder for you shortly!)

CKICK HERE!

Boy howdy, did this thread do a nose dive.

Without getting into pissing matches all over again, I think Taz's point was that

1. As a person not completely familiar with Strider, he was put off by the "kicked back, drinking beer, swapping war stories, 'There I was, hip deep in spent brass and grenade pin's'" attitude.

2. Something that wasn't said was that if he felt this way, and he has some slight experience with them through the forums, what would other people think?

In my opinion these are valid concerns for any participant to have.

That being said - I wasn't there, and when I was at Blade '01 last year, I saw nothing remotely like this. Mick, Ryan, Duane, and the rest of the crew were cheerful, open, outgoing, and seemed genuinely happy to be there, chatting up the folks passing in front of their tables. I walked by several times, and personally, was impressed by how they handled themselves.

I highly doubt that they, or anyone representing them, would be falling down drunk, belligerant, or inebriated while repping the product. Maybe you just caught them during an off moment or two Taz?

Kevin
