I saw the Busse Assault Shaker on Busse's web site. Looks kind of neat and very strong.

Does anyone have any first hand impressions of this knife? Also, what kind of sheath comes with the knife?

Is it only available directly through Busse? I have not seen it on any other sites.

Hi Jay,

Have you ready an article on AS @ the Busse website? I think it's about a cop or something. Quite interesting...supposedly AS's capabilities include armor piercing...am thinking of getting one myself...heehee.

Do you know that AS was meant for a government agency? And we're lucky to get them as they're excess and not meant for standard production.

The AS is quite a "little" knife. It's 1/4 inch thick INFI, very sharp, stays sharp, and is tough as a anchor bolt. The coating is also very durable. The handle is somewhat small, but with a little home-brewed paracord work, the grip can be improved.

The sheath is a high qaulity Kydex, with a generous length of paracord for neck wear or looping around your belt. Knife fit and retention is excellent.

As a pure neck knife, it may be a little heavy for some. And it's profile may not fit the defintion of concelable. However, neck knife needs are unique for each person. Mine is belt worn, or lashed to my pack strapping.

Jayharley,
Here is a picture of the AS and its sheath, thought it might help getting a look at the sheath. ;) :D
I have 2 and love them, wear one everyday.

I was able to handle the AS during the Blade show. To say it's an awesome "little" knife would be an understatement!

I ordered the AS and NO about three weeks ago, so they should be here in the next couple of weeks. Everytime I hear a truck coming down the street I head for the door :D.

I'm not sure about utilizing it as a neck knife because it did seem heavy. And as was also stated the profile may not lend itself to be concelable. I'll give it a try for a few days or a week so you never know. My current plan is for belt wear.

I just ordered an AS and a CG/SJ.:)

Now I'm listening for trucks!

I got my AS for Fathers Day from my wife, and have used it on a daily basis along with my SAK Tinker.I work in machine maintenance, and when I am too lazy to go back to my toolbox,I just use these two.I put a small Teklok on mine for belt carry(at6ft2in and 235 lbs,it carries well under my untucked shirt!)

Not likely, it's been 7 weeks, I still don't have mine. :(

Huge batch of Assault Shakers are being finished this week and should be shipping out by next Wed. Rock on!

MAN, I get nuts when you talk dirty to me!:D
Is mine in there?

Did The Man Tie the paracord himself?
Was the tensile strength of the paracord tested to be certified at 550# ?
Is the knot clockwise or counter clockwise?
Does the knife come in the sheath or just with the sheath?
How would you compare the chopping ability of the AS to say the Battle Mistress?
What is spec on the foot/pounds of energy needed to remove the knife from the sheath? Install the knife into the sheath?
What will be the approximate resale value of the AS in approximately 10 years?

How are you doin' Jerry?
How am I doin' Jerry?
How's everybody at Busse doin'?

I think I can hear that truck now; I'm going to go wait outside!
