Has Busse ever made a bayonet? I'm thinking the answer is no. And I'm wondering why that is...

We need a Busse Bayonet! Who's with me?

I'd bite

Something in the way of a M3 trench knife with a GW type handle would be

I've never seen a Busse bayonet though.

Just get some duct tape and wrap a battlemistress to the barrel of yer AR-15,,,,,,,,,, wont look pretty but no one will run at ya ,,,,,,,,,lol :D

I've never seen, nor heard of a Busse bayonet. You could have the custom shop make you one, I'm sure. It'd cost you pretty penny though. Most bayonets are not in the Busse price/ quality range. With the exception of the recent Strider/ Kai bayonets- which will almost certainly never be issued.

A Busse bayonet would be cool- but it would kind of be like Louis Vuitton mudflaps. Sure, they'd be nice- but is there really much of a market for them?

I think a CG Busse bayonet might come in at a reasonable-ish price. No need for a LE bayonet...

just wire wheel the coating off , iffin ya wanted it shiny .Cost effective LE ....lol

Moon wilson i know this is unrelated but iv ebeen wanting to ask this for a few years but always kinda felt that this was a dumb question but i really want to know the answer... how does the busse custom shop work? ive always got the impression that they made whatever they wanted and we lapped up what we could get our grubby little mits (or in some cases hooves) on. Can i contact the custom shop and get a knife custom made? if so is there a number? is there a long wait time? im sorry to ask unrelated questions and to kinda hijack a thread but this has been bugging me for literally years.

thabnks for any response.

If I could get anything I wanted from the custom shop, it would be a big INFI chopper with a Res-C handle. I just love the comfort of that shock absorbing handle when I'm pounding away on a big ole log.

Might not be as purdy as the micarta or g10, but I like it!

you can call and discuss with garth or someone at the custom shop what you want them to make or you can email him a design and ask what the price/wether they'll make it.

I would suggest calling just to make sure you get ahold of someone, might take a few tries (you'll get someone at the reception desk, but to get ahold of garth or someone in the custom shop). that way garth will know an email is coming. if it's a standard design like "satin jack but with a 9" blade", you probably won't have to send a design. if it's a pure custom, you'll have to send a print of what you want, it can be sketched, cad, whatever. but, it will need all of the pertinent information and dimentions, and should be as exact as possible since thats what they'll be working with.

I don't know if theres a down payment because I did my order differently then the standard protocol. I think it's 50% up front non-refundable, the the full balance once the knife is made. you'll need someone elses (or anyone at busse's) word on that.

and then you wait. aaaaand wait.

customized work, meaning a blade that you send into them to have customized, can take as little as 3 months and costs roughly 75$ per hour of work. simple mods could be as little as 75$, extensive mods going upwards.

for fully custom pieces you -will- wait at least 1.5 years, and probably closer to 2.5. I'm currently at 3 years 1 months. I know one of the 3 is close to completion, but I have no idea on the other 2. I could call and ask for specifics, but it wouldn't really help the wait time and I don't want to bug them. the pricing is roughly 100$ per inch of blade, so a 5" blade would be 500-600$. if you want extra features like nuclear serrated spine with corregated bevels and a custom micarta finish, each additional feature will cost on top of the standard custom price.

so ya... lots of waiting.

I NEED A BUSSE BAYONET!

Some sort of Team Gemini variant with a bayonet guard!? Wouldn’t it be awesome to throw some INFI on the front of a rifle? Me thinks yes.

TGULB with an 8" spear point with fully sharpened false edge and a fighting geometry handle with field replaceable scales in case of breakage.

The hardest part about making a bayonet these days is likely the mounting options because there are so many military pattern rifles and thousands of muzzle devices. They could offer 4-5 different attachment options, M16-AR15, FAL, M14-M1A, AK, etc.

Or just have the actual guard of the knife removable. That way Busse could just offer bayonet guards with different sized holes for whatever fits your rifle. The knife guards could be made of non-infi steel too. The same could be done for the pommel/catch I would think?
