Busse + Beer = ER!

Thanks all for your awesome support! It somehow makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one to learn these lessons the hard way!

Happy birthday, youngster!

And congratulations on surviving a painful injury. Hope that hand returns to full use very soon.

As everyone else has already said -- just let 'em drop!

YEOW! The last one I did I found the 3/4" chunk of the side of my finger still stuck to the underside of the knife! I dropped the cloth I was wiping it down with and went to catch it. I was sober at the time.

This guy should get a medal. Instead of letting his Busse LE fall to the ground, he valiently offered his hand to save the knife from possible damage from hitting the ground. Seven stitches (or so) where a small price to pay to preserve a pristine knife from injury. E pluribus unem.

zephy5,

Happy birthday!

It seems that everyone missed the most important part of the thread! All I have read is about injuring yourself--nothing about having tasty beer:eek:

The St. Bernardus is probably why you were able to survive the incident in the first place!

Nice choice for a birthday beer. By any chance have your tried the 60th Anniversary version of the St. B Abt 12?

By the way sorry about the injury...

I know, I was wondering why no one mentioned the beer! I haven't tried the anniversary version, I can't find it. It's a PITA to find imports like St. B's in PA. I did try their Prior 8, I really liked that too

That's too bad. I've had the 60th and really enjoyed it, but I would have to try them again next to each other to see how different they actually are.

St. Bernardus has been good across the board as far as what have tried. And, here in Oregon at least, they are a good value for that caliber of beer.

I am fortunate to live here--we have a pretty good beer scene.
