Busse Bushcrafter?

Have to second the Bog Dog. Lightweight, and great design.

PS - why so interested in a spark thrower? Strikers are super light weight and usually come attached to a ferro rod. Any reason to use the knife over that?

Dog Skinner or Bog Dog (original Mudder handle!) would probably the closest to the purist bushcrafter's blade shape and size.
Drop point RMD wil do the trick as well.

'Bushcraft' happened on all continents for a long while... and only in a very small part of one of the smallest of those continents scandi grind was dominant grind until, what? this century came about and internet began shaping people's opinions...

Dan has a great idea <IMHO> about the center tube for bow drill socket...

Also, spot on about the ferro striker...

I've heard INFI will throw a spark...but I KNOW sr101 will spark

all the suggestions so far are great!

I'd go with my modded MSe-- amazing how many things it checks off on Dan's post above...

And pair it with a nice, light, comfy and amazingly packable 1311...

Between the two you have most of your bases covered from carving, skinning, machete, baton/splitting, draw knifing, stand off weapon, spear point, plus all the other things that you requested...

here's my modded MSe, my 1311 is factory...

I don't know how or why I passed on the MSe... Actually it was because it came out behind the other Ergos. That is just outstanding. Did you hack it yourself? Beautiful work

Thank you sir, but I didn't do the work...

Josh @ Razor Edge Knives removed the talon hole...he's done it for a couple of us here on the Busse sub. ...

MSe is amazing in factory configuration, but this mod really takes the ergos to another level...

I'm gonna strip her and take the secondary bevel down to 15 dps-- when I find half a day to devote to it, hahaha.

I've been wanting and waiting for a scandi grind bushcrafter from Busse for many years now. I hope eventually they come out with one. The CABS LE is prob the closest to a bushcrafter from Busse and Active Duty would be a close 2nd.

Good question, newer seen one, but they did make a tigerhide with fatter handles than my snakeskin Culti has got...

Man they are sweet looking rag! Very nice indeed. I'd like a black canvas one with tanker grey coating....and the small BUSSE logo. Etch, strip, use!

For me it's my CABS hands down. I've thought about moding the butt for a striker. Instead I added a 1" piece of 1095 on the lanyard.

They haven't made a coated Culti, but a working mans version exists, the only difference is a more robust handle.

Culti is a VERY underrated Busse. I've processed a few deer with it... it came through with flying colors.

I just acquired an SOB today, and it seems like it will be just about perfect as a bushcrafter for me. Big enough to rely on if it were the only sharpened piece of steel you had with you, and small enough to do detail work if needed.

I been meaning to try a Porkshank, as soon as I find a Black Canvas one. That sounds like a good all around smaller blade.

Agree, this is the EDC as i`m allways returning too, easy to carry in a sheath around your neck as a backup for a larger blade too, but as said before, would like it made from Busse a tad longer and with some more beef, then it would be the perfect bushcrafter..

The height of the blade makes it easier for whittling and other shores compared to other larger Busses like the BS and the SOB, PS would be better than those two due to its not so high blade, my opinion.

It would be cool if Busse came out with a "Field Grade" for those of us that aren't Combat or Battle types.
