CABS #8 - 330$ SOLD and shipped
SAR5 custom/mod - 315$ SOLD and shipped

I'm not terribly keen on selling either of these, but I am getting desperate for cash. I do not ship outside of the united states. I'll be sending these either via fedex or usps priority at my discretion.

Up for sale here is a Busse Combat Knife Company CABS knife, limited edition number 8. The acronym stands for "Choiless Anorexic BOSS Street". The BOSS acronym stands for "Busse Old School Series". This knife is a reiteration of an older version of the Mean Street.

This knife is in used condition, it does have surface scratches and scuffs on the blade and a few light scuffs on the handles. It has been sharpened to 24 degrees per side on an edgepro apex model sharpener.

The sheath is a basic folded style concealex sheath and comes with a small Tek Lok brand belt loop. The sheath is also in used condition, and has had it's rivets drilled out and replaced to clean sand out of it earlier this month, I accidentally replaced the rivets backwards so the wide portion is on the back. If you weren't looking closely at it, you wouldn't notice and it doesn't affect functionality at all.

This is a very cool knife, one of the thinnest Busse has produced to date, and one of the few models that was offered in a choiless configuration. If your wondering why I'm pricing it as I am: 297 retail+ 14.99 shipping from busse + 15$ in kydex hardware (teklocs are pricey)+ 12$ shipping to you = 338.99 +3% paypal = 349.15. I have a feeling that these are going to be harder to find later on then other models, as they are difficult to rationalize getting rid of once you've handled it.

Blade steel - INFI
Handle material - black paper micarta
Blade edge length - 4"
Blade length from handle slabs - 4 1/2"
Overall length - 9 1/4"

Next up is a Busse Combat SAR5 that has been modified by the Busse Combat Custom Shop, then removed a 1/2" of the pommel and changed the scales.

Steel - INFI
Handle material - Black Canvas micarta
Overall length - 9 1/4
Blade length - 4.5"
Stock thickness - 11/64 (just under 3/16")
weight of knife - 7.3 oz

Backstory: I purchased a stock Busse Combat sar5 and sent it in to the Busse Combat Custom Shop to have the primary grind raised up so that a guard could be fashioned. I also requested that the handle profile be modified to match my hand, the center of the finger swell to be between my middle and ring finger, and the center of the palm swell to be at the center of my palm. It looked awesome, but anyone who has handled the sar5 will know that the handle slabs are fashioned in a way that forces you hand to be a half inch back from the ricasso, if you choke all the way up you don't have any slab to grab onto. So I removed them and put these on. I also removed the last 1/2" of the pommel to get it into a more neutral balance, as it was very handle heavy before. I used a hack saw and cold water, and then a belt sander with dips in cold water once every 1 second or light pass. It took a long time, but I'm positive I didn't heat it up past 200 degree's at any point, and the temper is only in danger at 900 or above so it should be just fine. The important thing is that everything from the third tang hole all the way to the tip is exactly as I got it from Garth (the manager of the custom shop) - if anything on the blade/tang fails it is still as it came from the shop, under warranty. The handle scales however are my work, not busses, and thus are not under any kind of warranty. I stripped the blade but not the area under the tang, you can't see the coating under the handle but I wanted to keep it coated to avoid possible rust under the scales. I made the new scales out of 1/4" thick black canvas micarta (the same greenish hue that busse's black canvas has) and put them on with machine screws and stainless steel stand offs. To indicate that the scales are not busse's work I've etched "LVC SCALES" into the pommel of the scales.

The sheath looks ghetto but is functional, it's drainage is on the very bottom of the sheath where there is a gap where the kydex roles over the spine. It has a small tek-lok belt loop. It's a cool knife because the edge is consistent in thickness from ricasso to tip. I applied a 24 degree per side bevel and it remained pretty small all the way across.

Condition: This is a user. It shows surface scratches from being inserted into the sheath and from being used. The main grind has vertical manufacturing marks from the belts used to grind it.

What a very nice work, you have done on the SAR5. In fact it's just what I've been looking for.
Trust me, I'd appreciate that knife every day, so it could really get the new home, it deserves here in Denmark, but unfortunately you not ship outside of the United States.
Furthermore knives with blades having a total length of more than 4.7 inches are illegal to carry here, so your SAR5 has the ideal length.
If you change your mind regarding shipping, I'll be one happy buyer, of course. Just let me know, what the extra shipping will be.
