To me the cbt grind looks like it might cause binding during cutting correct me if im wrong.
What is the advantage of the CBT? Other than aesthetics? Is there any advantage?
CBT is an awesome idea. When you chop or slice, the whole width of the blade is no longer causing drag, just the tops of the scallops.
The CG FBM was introduced years ago with the CBT, and AFAIK there has never been a complaint here about binding. One could argue that since there is less surface contact to whatever material the blade is passing through, that there will be less binding. I used mine for a cutting competition and had no problem. The theory behind the CBT is you get a weight reduction without any loss of lateral stength.
