To BladeForums.com Members,
Let me start by aplologizing for my actions and words yesterday. I have been under an emotional stress lately due to the loss of my father. The reason I am selling some of his items is to try to raise money to give him a decent burial. He lived with me because he was on social security and would not have been able to make it. Covering his expenses stretched my pocket book thin also and I am under a lot of pressure to raise funds. The info I got on another website said the knife I sold retailed for $250. I listed it for $199 for a quick sale. When I found out I got burned and people thought it was funny I didn't take it very well. Bottom line, I should have done more research and now that I am a member of bladeforums I will. I look forward to talking with you and other guys and learning more about knives and values, etc. Unfortunately my father didn't teach me much about his second hobby. He taught me about guns so that is my thing. Have some of them for sale also. well thanks again and kind regards, Dave

Normally anything posted here is not malicious in nature.

Yes someone got a heck of a deal, but you can rest assured that with some searching of old sale posts, and the input from the trough (the participants of the forum) you'll be able to get a more fair price for your fathers treasures.

Hope this helps man.

Mike

Thanks for the post and Welcome to the forums. Stick around!

Sorry to hear about your father. That's rough. Hang in there!

Your not the only guy here to sell low without researching price so join the group!

welcome aboard, and i'm very sorry about your father.

re the knife, i can promise no one was mocking your situation. they (we) were just all a bit shocked at the pricing and that it wasn't us (them) who got the smoking deal.

stick around.

Welcome to the Forum, Irondave. :)

Considering what you are going through, and the situation with the BBSHSH knife, I have to say that you coming back here to offer a sincere apology gets my respect. There's lots of good people here, and I think that you'll enjoy getting to know us, and us getting to know you. :) I hope that you decide to stick around!

My sincerest condolences to you over the loss of your Father.
Smoke rising from Penn's woods for you and yours.

Pleased to meet you.

Sucks about selling that one for the price you did.

I have been on here for a while, and I have made a deal where I undervalued what I traded by quite a bit. But I got the knife I was chasing, and he got a better deal than I was thinking!

Well, it still hurts to think of your deal!

I would have given you a fair deal........I would have paid at least $300 for it.:D

Wow! Could not have expressed my thoughts better than the posts above mine! This is a great forum and all the folks in the Busse sub-forum are great people. Stick around and enjoy the community!

My condolences

Sorry to hear about your dad's passing Dave. I hope it works out for you and can understand now your first post, and the difficult times your going through.

Welcome to the Busse forum my friend. Let me start by saying that we are all very sorry for your loss. We are much more of a family here than just a group of friends.

We have all shared in many of our community member's grief and cried along side of our brothers and sisters when they have suffered through illness, hard times, and death.

Your father obviously raised a very loving son. He is most assuredly proud of your actions here today, as any of us would be if our sons acted in the same manner. Thanks for coming back and setting the record straight. . . You are welcome here anytime, and we hope to see you visit often.

Oh, and we drink a lot here as well, so don't forget to bring your own booze, 'cause ain't nobody sharin' their booze 'round these here parts!!!!:grumpy:. . . Well, I should say they don't share with me anymore because of a very undeserved reputation. . .. . . Here's the down and dirty. A guy offered me a swig out of his bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue at the BLADE Show in Atlanta a few years back. So, I poured the entire bottle down my pie hole to show my appreciation, right? Well, the next thing you know, I'm labeled as a "Booze Hound". . .. . . It can be a rough crowd 'round here sometimes!!!!:D:D

Come back often,

Jerry :D

.

My condolences Dave; sorry for your loss.

On a different note however, welcome to the forum!

Welcome, Dave. Sorry to hear about your loss.

If you stick around, I think you'll find this is a great place to hang out. Maybe you can tell us a little about your dad one day.

Take care.

Welcome and I think you will enjoy the Hogs. You and your family have my deepest sympathies for your loss.

Sorry for your loss... like Jerry said, I'm sure your father would be proud that his son is the kind of man that can make an apology like this.

My sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved father. I am certain being with you during his last time was a consolation and comfort to him as it was to you. My respect for extending your care to him.

Welcome to the forum. This place can be wild sometimes, but basically it is a helpful family that takes care of each other, and has fun with each other as occasion demands! Have fun, that's what it is all about!
