Busse Combat Proudly Presents The Hognose War Sword BG

I'm in for a muddy with maroon, but thinking about changing to green with black. Hmmmm...decisions. This looks too cool to pass on. I think it will be a hell of a chopper.

It does look very cool. Wonder how the balance/handling is? Think I'll wait to swing one a bit before I decide.

Holy @#**!!!!! I reckon the MOAB may have met its match! Phargen AWESOME!!!!

Rob, I FULLY agree with that!!!  Longer and thinner than the MOAB, and with extra weight out toward the tip to move the CG forward, this could well be the baddest chopper to ever come out of the Busse compound!!! :D :D :D And at 1/3 or less the cost of a MOAB....

In for a tanker grey with black/blue G10. Just got an AK47 for my brother but pretty sure this will win in a chopping contest!

Curious as to the difference in the weight though....

War Sword:
OVERALL LENGTH: 22.875"
BLADE LENGTH: 16"
BLADE WIDTH: From 1.85" to 2.50"
BLADE THICKNESS: Approx. .250"

AK47:
BLADE LENGTH: 18.5"
OVERALL LENGTH: 29"
BLADE WIDTH: 1.25"
BLADE THICKNESS: Approx 3/16"

Here's the specs I just measured on the two BGAK's that arrived this morning:

These are definitely ground thinner overall versus my Rodent Waki and my pair of Rodent Rucki's. They have a pretty respectable edge by Beef. I'm measuring a decent 0.045" behind the edge on both along the length of the blade, increasing to about 0.060" at the tip.

Thickness in front of the handle scales is 0.195" on both. Weight is 875.7g (30.88oz) on Bruised, and an ever so slightly heavier 887.9g (31.31oz) on Bloodied. :D

ETA: Mine balances right where the edge begins at the forward part of the choil. It feels very fast in hand, especially compared to the handle-heavy Waki.

There will be quite a bit more steel in the Hognose, and probably about the same amount of handle material. I suspect they'll weigh several ounces more, possibly as much as 40-42 ounces based on a comparison with a similar thickness NMFBM.

And more of that weight will be out toward the tip, giving increased leverage and probably a bigger sweet spot. The Hognose may become the reigning Bussekin chopper! :D

Last call on these bad boys. I couldn't resist any longer and ordered one. Looking forward to see how it compares to my other Busse choppers.

Wow that didnt take long!

I ordered mine the other day, moss/black mic. I think the moss green is going to look killer on the cbt part of the blade.

I had to get in it this one. It's going to hurt the cc, but I don't want to wait and try to pick one up on the exchange!

Well maybe there will be an Infi version someday. I am hoping for a monster blade next week to stare at.

I agree with the thought around excellent chopping. I'm quick to suggest using an axe and a big knife, the axe simply being far superior for chopping. However, I believe this has the potential to be the singular tool needed for bigger work. How it functions for finer jobs will be the crux variable. Of course, a small folder can likely solve that. The hognose could become a long term winner.

The AK-47 is not designed as a Chopper-it is a fighter-much lighter and thinner for quickness and maneuverability-the AK-47 will be considerably lighter

Broke down and ordered on Sunday before they disappeared. Weight wise I imagine them to be comparable to the Gladius. The Gladius is .30 thick, with a 23.35 length, a 1.75" blade width, and a 2.48lb weight (39.7oz). Hognose is a bit shorter overall but had a wider blade. With this info i'm predicting the weight to actually to be slightly less heavy with a point of balance to be above the handle giving a "lively" feel.

Don't tell anybody, but I think this is cooler that the WTF, and I'm super excited to get it in hand.

Its Cool, but cooler than WTF ? that might be a stretch lol just my .02 Cents
