We are in the midst of a great expansion and have recently added on to our shop. In our remodeling phase we have come across some "historic archival memorabilia" as my wife refers to it, I just call most of it "junk". We have original signed drawings of the first Battle Mistress, Steel Heart, Micarta mock-ups of knives that went into production and some that never made it, patterns, kydex prototypes, pieces of the first INFI ingots we received from the mill, laser cut webs, etc. . . It's a bunch of unusual items that have accumulated around our shop since 1982.

All of these items have a story. It's a story whose ending I think should be in a landfill. My wife, on the other hand, tells me that some avid Busse afficianados might love a chance at getting some of this memorabilia. I think she's wrong, (there's always a first time)and have decided to leave it up to you guys. If you have any interest in us having giveaways on this forum in order to clear this stuff out please respond. If there are an enormous number of responses we will begin the contests. If not, I will be proven right and you will have my undying gratitude.

Are you kidding? I think this will hit some hot buttons here and your wife is correct. Since she likes the idea, she should be in charge of the contests and giveaways.

I love knife contests and giveaways!!! Go for it.

On the other hand, Andy is right - knives come first!

What a dilema.

Hey, that's a great idea! What a novel concept! Your wife must be the brains of the bunch. You should have her doing more contests and such on these new forums. Sounds like a lady who should be up for a big promotion.

Jerry,
Since I can't convince my beautiful wife that our family desperately needs a Battle Mistress, an ingot of INFI or a drawing would hold an esteemed place in my house. You see, I have a plan. If I can get an ugly piece of steel (ugly only to her) or a crude drawing, I can place it in the living room thereby holding her hostage until she agrees to a Battle Mistress. What do you think? Seriously, I would be honored to own any of it.

Take care, (AND a big knife)
Jim

P.S. Please pick my name for the new Badger

Spark has already been asking for us to pick him for the new Badger name, so stand in line.

Did anyone read his suggestions by the way? They're on page 2 of the thread and they're hysterical.

Jerry, do it! I'd love to have some original drawings, it'll inspire to save up the money for the real thing! Although at the rate Andy's trying to sell me stuff or put down deposits "TODAY" there won't bee much of a wait

Jerry, Jennifer is absolutely correct. Give her a raise, give her a big smooch, and let her spread the wealth among the Busse-heads. Andy was also correct. Shouldn't you be grinding?

My only suggestion is to make sure that the wealth is spread among the clan here. How about according to when they ordered their first Busse... (mid-98

) or if they're close enough to drive over for the first pickings. ROAD TRIP! LOL!

Hey, I wouldn't mind to take one of these old SH, BM or Ron Hood prototypes out of your hand. I'm even willing to pay for shipping

But as I know me, I will end up with a broken piece of Kydex.

A give-away would be great if you don't leave the grinder for too long.
I am looking forward to seeing you at this ears Blade show and perhaps getting one of your non-basic line kinves. If they are any better I have a friend that will not belive them. He still shakes his head at my BF basic slicing a deer's pelvis with one chop. His AXE took three.

Jerry: Do you think that you'll have any Stealth Hawks in there? Does anyone know where to find those again?

Just box it all up and ship it down. I will take the pics and get it in here and you just tell me the contests to run and we will ship out the prizes!

Easy huh?

You want me to give away this prototype sheath I got?

Thanks for your offer Mike. I'm not sure there's enough interest yet to justify a giveaway of this "historic memorabilia" aka "shop junk" (notice how I slipped my definition in?). If, however, the amount of "Bus Stop Graffiti" (as one of our dedicated customers refers to this forum) continues to mount in favor of giveaways, we'll have to come up with some original ideas for contests. Of course my wife already has quite a few in mind. Actually, I think some of her ideas for contests sound much more intriguing than does some of the "shop junk" we'd be giving away.

P.S. Hold onto that proto sheath you've got. I've got plenty of stuff to giveaway. . . . plennnnty!

Jerry, since I'm about an hour or so drive from your shop, how about I um, "volunteer" to sort through the jetsam and flotsam...

PS. I'm still selling New York bridges...

Forget the contest and just ship me a box of your old sharpened "shop junk"

If you insist on having a contest I'll try everything to win including cheating whenever possible

Never underestimate the allure of jun....memoribilia when it is freely given away. It is symptomatic of our condition that we can never get enough knife stuff (just take a look in my closet or desk drawer sometime).

So please Mr. Knifeman, give away the candy
