Busse-curious

Proxy means that you are asking someone to buy a certain knife at a show on your behalf. Obviously it involves a certain amount of trust between two people who may have never met except as names on a forum. Either they buy it with the expectation that you will repay them, or you front some money, and trust them to buy it for you. There are no hard and fast rules, it is a virtual handshake agreement between two members here, usually done behind the scene.

Once you decide exactly what flavor of Mistress you want, and a fair price for same; then you can patiently haunt the Exchange and eBay, as well as post a WTB. If a 'Ganza comes along you can jump in there. Failing all that, you might publicly post here that you are asking for help to score a knife at an upcoming show, such as the Knob Creek show in the fall.

Good luck in your Quest!

bah! that sounded ungrateful and stupid. What i meant to say was thank you, and that your advice really has made a difference to me. If i ever become a piglet, I would be extremely proud not only to own a busse knife, but also to be a part of this awesome community. Bless you all.

Ask someone to pick it up for you. I've done it on several occasions, but I don't have the best of luck at it :o

That's it. Usually, you provide that person with funds before they go ... sometimes not.

Proxying is almost a tradition amongst we poor Busse addicts. I've proxied for many, myself.

Thinking back, the best deals I've gotten on brand new BMs were from friendly Hogs and at Knob Creek.
