Gorgeous matched, highly-figured ironwood scales on black G10 bolsters with intricate mosaic pins. Satin-finish blade, full convex grind to a convex edge, .22” thick, brand new from the Busse Custom Shop. I purchased this knife direct from the Cupidganzaa over a year ago, offering it now well below my cost--

Was $595 $495 NOW $450 includes insured Priority shipping in USA only. Postal money order only—not set up for Paypal. No trades, thanks.

Small surface fissures in the ironwood are superficial and stable, natural texture:

Were the surface fissures there when you bought it or did they develop over time? If over time, did you ever discuss that with the factory?

Came that way from Garth, and I personally like the natural texture--looks "real" and lets you know it's not some kind of composite. I took that close-up photo at just the right angle in just the right light in order to get them to show up to that degree--notice in the top photo they hardly show at all. Also notice how the strong light is picking up the grain in the G10 bolster--picture is more vivid than in person. There has been no change in the wood since I received it. I just want to make sure the buyer knows what they are, and specifically that they are not structural cracks developing in the slabs. The wood is perfectly stable and of course Busse stands behind it.

Thanks,
Will

So the wood has been stabilized?

No.

It's desert ironwood, one of the most stable among all the natural handle materials. No need to chemically stabilize it. I said it's stable, meaning the natural fissures are not cracks that are progressing through the wood. They're just a bit of natural texture and are not going anywhere.

Thanks,
Will

Just a note guys, ironwood is natuarally a very strong wood and the piece used on thia knife is one of the nicest figured pieces I have seen. The surface fissures are just on the surface and give the wood a very natural look . There is nothing to worry about with the strength or durability of this wood.
