I love pics of this nature. Somehow the design value and character of the knives tends to be more in evidence than when they are just photographed on their own. They look (and almost smell) more needful. Yes there is indeed a difference between art and technique Thanks for inspiring to buy more(as if I needed it )
I was using a Canon 30D with the 24-105/4 L IS, a bogen tripod, and a 750W Fresnel lens to light it. Along with some reflectors for fill. I usually use the Canon 50/2.5 Macro lens for this, but the variety of blades made me decide to use the zoom. It did a respectable job I think.
