Busse FFBM vs Himalayan Imports 18" AK Chopping Video.

What now or when they were available from Busse?

They were under $400 during the model run, now they are a lot more.

I'm sure they are good - but I only paid $95 for my Ganga Ram and it should be up to the task for camp chopping. If I need a big bowie then I have my BK-9 which cost $70. It would be nice to have enough money to spend $400 on a knife but I kinda feel that my knives can do 95% of what the Busse knives can do, but for a fraction of the price.

However I have a flashlight that I spent more than $500 on so I am in no position to criticize anyone for buying an expensive knife if it is what they want. Unfortunately I have less money now than when I bought that light.
(Actually the light was over $500 without batteries, over $600 with batteries and more if you count shipping - I can't believe I spent that much ).

$500 for a flashlight....!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT??? !!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding. :D

Yeah, it was pricey - but about 212W to the bulb and around 7500 Lumen.

Pricey? And I thought I splurged when I spent $30 on a Peak PKCOTK 2.5 Million Candlepower Spotlight. (These babies come in 5 Million version too for $50, but still far less than 7500 lumens).

By the way, very off topic, does anyone have any experience with the 4Sevens Quark MiNi? Those are $70 for titanium housing and they are soon coming out with a CR2 battery one as opposed to the usual one with CR123. Talk about a tiny bright light! 180 lumens.

I have a Quark AA and if it is anything to go by then I'd say you wont be disappointed. 4Sevens seem to be very 'on to it' when it comes to getting flashlights made.

Ankerson, nice to see HI's and Busse's playing well together. Good Pictures and video. I'm looking forward to seeing your next video. I've heared that the long Busse's and other high end knives can be used as draw knives, well I see recurves for that and an HI Khukri does a good job as a Draw knife. Might want to try that one out next time.

Actually the blade length on Giant Chit's is around 18inches; oal is around 24inches.

Yeah I knew that. :)

Still a sword though. :D

Yes they do work well as draw knives because they don't have a sharpened swedge and are big enough to get a nice wide grip on them. :)

Great video, thank you for sharing
