busse fighter

This is generally not a recommended SD tactic, even the throwers agree on this.

In my opinion (though the words are borrowed) the argument goes like this...

"Here, take my only weapon!" ;)

While I do throw my knives, under stress I would never expect to actually stick one in its intended target.

:D :D :D

Although throwing your blade is generally a last ditch effort in defensive knifework, I believe it is still a real consideration. In real life instance I would not choose to throw unless it was unacceptable to let the opponent escape. Once a person finds themselves in this situation, they would probaly consider carrying a thrower. I personally prefer a knife for close work and a tomahawk for mid to distance. Just my $.02. ;)

True. But there is no way in **** that I am throwing my busse at someone :D . I would opt to throw rocks or my shoes/boots before throwing my knife. You may miss and then you are out a weapon. To me, and this is just my opinion, is that throwing your knife is like carrying a .45 and throwing your bullets and/or magazine. ;) :)

But as mentioned before, the barf would be an excellent fighter. IMO

I resemble this remark. I fair pretty well while throwing at targets, but under duress I don't see being very accurate with anything other than a tomahawk or maybe a nice rock. But, I have known so-called "Professionals" who consider a thrower for defense or rather offensive action. I don't see a Busse being a throwing weapon. The suggestion that throwing was something to consider is just that. All that said, I can't wait to handle some of these blades. Once I use them, I'm sure my opinions may hold more water. :D

Depends on your style/build- I am a close fighter so the NARK or ZT Natural Outlaw are GOOOOOD medicine. A more open fighter would like a variation of the ZT Battle Mistress :) with a slight swedge or triple grind. NARK is nice for hooking and trapping in a reverse grip.

What about the Public/Urban Defender?

Not that big, but with the traditional tanto shape, very pointy and very sharp.
