Busse folder. Which knife as a base model?

If I'm not mistaken ATL city limits is 2in:eek: Someone correct me if I'm wrong on ATL...hope I am

According to the law referenced by Mr. Levine in his section on the topic, Georgia law now restricts blade length to 2". 2"! Can you believe it? The old Atlanta city ordinance that limited blade length to 3" is apparently now obsolete. I was carrying a Yojimbo to stay within the Atlanta law but now I just carry whatever I want because I'll be damned if I carry a 2" blade. If a cop decides to call me on it and bust me, I'll fight the charge in court on constitutional grounds (and probably lose). Hopefully I won't ever have to do that. I pretty much mind my business and don't give cops a reason to be interested in me.

And I'd like a Busse folder as much as the next guy. But I doubt it will ever go into production. If Jerry's smart (and he is) it won't. Fixed blades are Busse's thing. If the folder ever comes out it will be awesome, and insanely popular, and we'll see all sorts of hemming and hawing about hogging and scalping on Ebay. I doubt Busse's current production capacity could handle the demand the folder would bring. They would have to expand, which might not be a good thing. And I don't think the guys at Busse want to spend their lives cranking out folders. It's probably easier and more fun to make fixed blades when you're drunk!

I thought the 2in only in ATL city limits??? I was told by an officer I could carry 3in in my county. He also said they never messed with anyone over any size unless they were doing something else wrong.

I need to check agian... like you though I'm never gonna carry a 2in blade

I sold my emerson with wave, came partialy open at times when I was just getting it out of pocket. It was also hell on jeans.

Hi Ken,

I don't want to hijack the thread, this is probably a conversation for a different forum, but I've heard and read several different versions of the Georgia law. Ranging from 4" to 2", to the "palm rule", depending on who you ask. I've also heard from a couple different officers that they really don't care, so long as you're not doing anything you're not supposed to. I think this is true in a lot of the country- most cops are only interested in busting people that need to be busted. I had a cop in DC tell me when I asked him about blade size that "we don't care unless it's a switchblade or you stick in in somebody". Knives in DC are technically restricted to 3" and no serrations.

I just carry whatever I want and don't attract attention to myself. If Busse made a folder I would carry it and be very friendly if a cop ever asked me about it.

from everything I've seen, wich is nothing since I was never at blade (so I get to speculate here :D If I had actually seen it and knew what it was based on, I wouldn't say anything until its release date.), It appears to be based roughly on the active duty. at least the handle, and the basic forward portion of the blade.
