Busse for Tamishigiri?

I propose a new mat cutting discipline, it shall be called BANESHIGIRI!

Only Banized blades can be used and the cutting targets will be 2x4s.

This thread needs videos to demonstrate the cutting activity folks are talking about!

I forgot to mention this in my last post...

YES! I cannot wait to get this back in my hands again! THANKS BAN!!!!!!

I'd better find a new source for tatami mats because I have a feeling I'll be going through quite a few this summer!

Have fun, be safe, try not to scare the neighbors, make each cut count!

Best Regards,

Umm.... I think it would be kinda hard to slash through a 2X4 in one swipe :D I would love to see someone try it though

Ok I gotta go polish that long edge now!

Yep, you better buy a whole bunch of it. I have a feeling you will be going through quite a bit of that stuff.

I tried Hogwash's convexed AK on a Case of 24 water bottles. With my shabby technique I was able to go through 19. The only reason why I didn't go through the rest of them was because my cut veered upwards cleanly lopping off the thicker neck along with the bottle caps of the last 5-6 bottles :eek: It was quite an explosive water spraying cut :D

They already have. It is called the Thin Nick ;)

as much as I want a Thin Nick, I think this 300mm beauty is the right kind of blade and there's no Busse version yet (though the Ruck might be a close second - Ban, maybe you can mod one to see...). ;)

back to the topic at hand...

Dude that guy is bada$$ with a sword!

I honestly don't think this convexed AK would have a problem doing what he showed. I doubt that I have the skill to do it though.

The AK is now Stupid Sharp. I was just able to hold onto a strand of hair and lop off a piece with just a slight mini twist of the wrist towards the edge. It can easily whittle hair no problem

She is finally ready to go home.

As usual...Ban-tastic work there hog!!!!
One day I will own an AK and have it Banned!!!!:D

I'm amazed at the video...and I think I need a reservation for my AK, Ban! Zombies beware!!! :D

Master Williams is the 'real deal'... I'm sure he could make a 'Banned' AK or Ruck 'Sing'... :)

.

I'll take it!!! :D

That looks just awesome Ban... incredible skills you've got bro!!!

YEESH! Who's sword does Master Williams use? Thanks for that clip!

He uses Bugei swords, made by Paul Chen from folded Swedish Powdered Steel. Not sure if he has a preference but I know the Crane and the Dragonfly katanas are great for tameshigiri as they are light and fast.

If you want an authentic katana made for serious use Bugei is a great place to get once, and their prices aren't terrible either.

I would honestly prefer a katana made from INFI and BANned into a full convex monster. Too bad I got overzealous with my FBM and cut down my money tree.
