Busse Fusion Battle Mistress FFBM Video Destruction Test Completed

I finally finished the whole set!

To be honest, I didn't think you could break it but after putting it through the hell you gave very little could have survived.

Great tests!
They are the hallmark of your site!

very inspiring! the proof is in the pudding! i bet alot of people will want one after viewing your awesome testing videos! "no chips or tearing"! = priceless!!! thank you noss! chears all!

Noss4, have you settled on testing methods? It seemed that in the beginning your tests varied somewhat from knife to knife. They're now the same for all?

Also, what is the primary edge angle of the FFBM?

Thanks!

mmmotorcycle: I had my doubts about it breaking. I took some very heavy dead blows to do it. It would have lasted longer. It just reached it's max when there was no where for the edge to push trough the remaining portion of the tubing. The last final blows were tremendous. The edge holding up was just incredible !!!!

PatriotDan: Yes I have settled on my current line up for now. I'll check the angle and get back with you. I sure someone here nows the exact number.

Tyrkon Lawson: A necker !!! You will need a back brace for this one. :D

Yeah, Busse makes a halfway decent big knife, but there's no need to rush to the trough. ;) :p :D

Seriously, while I was never a big CS fan (you can take those initials either way you want), it might be of interest to some to check out two other hard-use reports of Battle Mistresses.

FWIW, the FBM Limited Edition is still available at the Busse Company Store. It's the satin, flat ground counterpart to the FFBM.

They did look like pretty tiring blows! I'm glad you didn't dislocate your shoulder or something like that!

Great test! It is very gratifying in this day and age when a legendary product like a Busse Battle Mistress actually lives up to the legend. Some don't, but this one sure did. No myth busters needed for this great knife.

PatriotDan: I forgot to check the angle for you before I shipped it back to
Busse for the burial. Sorry about this. Other FFBM owners should be able to tell you this info.

Guyon: I have my eye on the LE. Now if I can get my hands on the cash I'll be set. Does the company store accept right hands as payment ?:D

mmmotorcycle: The vibrations were serious. My hand was vibrating for like 30 minutes afterward. ~~~~:D

Awesome work noss4 - did you get a warranty replacement? :)

I mean really, they should give you one for showing without a doubt just how tough INFI and the FBM is at no cost to them.

I had a FBM, but sold it. It was undoubtedly tough, but I just didn't need that much steel.

How can you rate INFI in comparison to SR77? So far it was your winner before INFI was tested.

Thanks, Vassili.

nozh2002: Yes SR-77 was the winner before INFI. The Scrapyard suffered a lot of damage to the edge that INFI did not. There was chipping and some tearing with SR-77 It was very tough and it stayed together even though The edges tore out on the tubing before it broke INFI Stayed together until the final break. This is what I'm looking for a very tough, strong blade with minimal damage. This was the reason for the extra point.

It was not clear for me that it exceed Scrapper record - not only survived as one piece, without loosing even small pieces, but even keep some edge. I just watched this:

This is really impressive! Most useful testing I ever saw. And really show what INFI is.

I take my hat off for you. It was obviously painful when you hammer right near you hand - you reall hurt yourself. I think you should came up with something which will absorb all that impact and not hurt you hand. May be not hammer it but use wise to push edge into pipe - I do not know, but it just looks unsafe - sooner or later you'll hit your palm.

Thanks, Vassili.

P.S. Hey "Busse community"! Should you really reward noss4? This is beyond curiousity - he almost injure himself. How did you miss it?

nozh2002: Thanks.

I like to generate a lot of impact and vibration when I'm going through the metal. This is the hardest most brutal test I do. It is much harder then the concrete on the knife. It's hard on my hand this is true. :D but If I can hammer a blade through metal stock. Or even tougher the steel tubing and come out in one piece without losing parts of the knife like the FFBM successfully did then it's one tough blade and steel.

Why should we reward Noss-Hog because he made already hard to get INFI even harder to get now. Bastid:D

But I agree with you about the hammer blows. I mentioned it earlier. Just one of those blows would have pulverized his hand, think of all the knives that would not get the chance to be destroyed if he hurt himself :D

Hi Noss,

awesome FFBM test you did  just ... totally cool!

Your test made up my mind, i got a FFBM 2 weeks ago. A cool beast with white ghost G10 scales. Just the ultimate chopper :-)

Cheers
Vincent
