OK folks.... i have seen a few of you post that you love africa, as many of you know from the hog carving i did and sold on ebay, i grew up in africa, tanzania and kenya.....

so here is my question.... if i was to organise a real african safari. for busse/bladeforums folks only ... lets say a three or four week trip to tanzania.... a kilimanjaro, serengeti and ngorongoro safari and could get us walking permits.... (most game parks no longer allow real walking safari..... so you gotta know someone or pay out the ass for it...) and planned it for the great migration lets say in 2008... how many of ya would be interested....

the cost plus airfare would be around 5k.... it would need to be at least 3 weeks and maybe we could talk jerry into doing it.... and even more important maybe he could make everyone a busse safari custom to take with?

i am serious folks.... you havent seen anything in life that would compare to the great migration.... except maybe your own child being born.... and think it could be done with a busse in hand

Sign me up. What kind of other costs are we looking at? Can we get our own rifles in country without too much hassle? What kind of animals are you looking to harvest? I've been chomping at the bit for a safari, and '08 would probably be just right for both time and money. Also, I'd be interested in doing some bowhunting if feasible, I actualy prefer it to rifle for most game. Ooh, can you say "Busse Broadhead"? I get all tingly just thinking about it....

ok everyone needs to try an talk jerry into doing this.... and coming up with the customs.... i sugest something made like the traditiopnal panga used in tanzania

i have a friend that has a hunting range.... unfortunatly you wouldnt be able to do any big game hunting there.... but we can eat warthog every night...lol

other cost would be...
your own equipment....ie sleep bags, shots, and other small items.... that you more than likely already have.

I hear that Africa is really beautiful....and I also hear that a safari is one of the most awesome experiences that a person can have......I think it is a great idea valleytinworks......Good Stuff!!!!

ok skunk.... pm me your telephone info and i will give ya call to get some feedback on what all we should do there.... i have lots of ideas but then i could spend the rest of my life in tz...

i can take into account everyones wishes to an extent..... if people commit to this.... lets wait to hear what jerry has to say.... but every safari has 'serious' pic ops....

I have often dreamed of one day visiting/hunting Africa, and even have a rifle that I wanted to take with me. Sadly, I am afraid by the time I have the money and time the political situation, game, and practicality of such a trip would be unthinkable.:(

I do hope everyone that is able to go has a great time. I have never been there, but can assure you it will be fantastic.

BTW, I have a fabulous rifle for sale that would be great for walking. :D

i will try to put together a survey type thing and send it to all that are seriously interested so i can accomadate wishes.....

would folks rather stay at hotels when not in the parks or would they rather stay with locals?

terry...
the political situation in tanzania is as stable as can be.... always has been... and there is plenty o game....

Looks like I may have assumed you meant a hunting safari. I'd still be interested, but can't commit to a non hunting trip. I'll follow along as this develops.
