So I don't know if I can do this but I'll give it a shot and hope I don't break a rule I missed. It seems there are some specific threads on arsenals and 1911 Ect. But they get side tract with other talk and not what the thread was about. So I thought why not have a general firearms thread? Talk about guns,ammo,gear, Ect...just keep it civil and polite. This way pic threads and gun specific threads can stay on track? Bad idea? Good idea ? What do y'all think? Also yes I will admit I'm part of the problem...lol.
 
It's a good idea -- but I still encourage and welcome anyone and everyone to post pics, comments, and questions about guns, ammo, knives, shelters, relief packages, gear, and anything else related to survival on my Show Me Your Apocalypse Arsenal thread. It's still a good idea though Lazy Otter!
 
Oh well then just use Robs post then....I thought you just wanted pics and brief discussion there! My bad man!
 
Oh no man -- not at all -- honestly I'm not trying to hog the arsenal talk. Sorry if it came across like that. I just didn't want anyone to think that guns/ammo talk was unwanted on my thread. I fully endorse this thread good sir.
 
No it completely makes sense you already got a good following on it so no real reason to basiclly do the same thing I like yours anyway cuz I'm finally all caught up...lol. And you did not come across bad or anything but polite as always so no need to apologize man. Alls good brother!

I didn't think you could have toys like that where your at Andy...that FAL looks great! And FYI Australia scares the crap outta me ( thanks animal planet,natgeo,Ect) everything there is poisonous and will kill or eat you...I'd rather go back to afganastan....lol. But knowing me I'd be attacked by a kola bear or wombat!

The L1A1 and AR are now long gone :( they became no nos in 1996 :( All the rest remain ... :)

H&K one of the best firearms I ever used when I was working! Love that gun cherish it and never let it go!
 
Otter.... it is not nearly that bad out here..... I can deal with the snakes....

and Spiders...





But the bloody DROP BEARS scare the bejesus out of me...!!!!!!
 
Is the 1 snake at the top a king brown? Is that what you call them and the bottom black snake he is nasty too right...and the last spider is a funnel web?
 
Can you hunt crocs there? And it's not the snakes or the spiders or crocs that will get me I'm serious it will be a wombat.kola,sugerglider pack (y'all may call them something else) a kangaroo Ect.
 
The timber stocked rifle is a early 1970s Winchester M70 in .375H&H. Just refinished the stock late last year :)

The brown snake is a Common (also known as Eastern) Brown Snake. It sits around No 2 or 3 on the kill you scale. The black one is a Red Belly Black Snake. They are well down the list at 12 or something (similar to some of the Rattle Snakes). Can't hunt crocs but that is will come again with the numbers ever growing now. I think the squashed spider is a Funnel Web, I didn't look too fast before I stomped it as it was at my back door. I have previously gotten Funnel Webs in the garage so it may well have been. Don't laugh...a kangaroo can easily kick the crap out of a man..!!!

The croc with the head up in my pic above was recently shot by Police after he took a fisherman in the NT here. It was well known on the stretch of river (called Michael Jackson as he has a white/light head and the black/green body). I took that pic in 2008.
