Greetings Bladeforums!!

Does anyone know how rare/common is a Busse HHFSH w/ "Embrace The Snow" -printed on the blade?
Also I'd like to know, what finish/color is the blade on that specific model? Or is there several? I've seen a pic of the knife but it's hard to determine the finish from that specific picture...

I'd appreciate the answer!

Cheers!

Yes there is!

Welcome and best of luck in your search ; I used to have a HHFSH and it's an awesome knife!

I've never heard of one with "Embrace the Snow". I would say it is really rare. Have you seen one?
There was a SJTAC with "Embrace the Suck" on the blade.

Now that's a nice knife defaultuser! The one that I'm talking about has a flatground. I think...
It's a German knifesite that sells it... If I give you the link, promise you won't buy it? ... Cause I'm kinda planning to:)
...I'd perfer "Embrace The Suck" as well:)

The blade finish is arctic white, and the handles are magnum sized 'tan and black' g10 thats been hand shaped. Arctic white was first (to my knowledge) seen on the arctic battle mistress that had a clipped point and slanted serrations. It's not a common finish, but you can request it from the custom shop.

The first mention of it that I can find comes from november of 2010, it seems like it might be a custom done for KnifeAddictAK, but thats complete conjecture as I have no evidence on where it comes from or how many were made.

I dont know, but the "embrace the snow" sounds like it would be perfect for the artic white finish

[edit] LVC beat me to it

Great Thank You Last Visible Canary!!

That is exactly the same blade I've been browsing.
They are selling it unused from Germany for 749 € = 1086 $. + shiping.
It seems a bit pricey, but for me it might be a good deal. It's hard to get Busses from Europe and if I order outside of Europe, I'll have to pay 30% more VAT+Tarif for the customs.

Should I go for it or get a cheaper one from US ??

heavy hearts (including ones with manum smooth scales) have sold between 600-700$ here recently. Really the only difference on that model is the coating and g10 color, and the words enscribed on it. Unless you have an attachment to the colors I would try for something cheaper, if you think you can realistically get it for cheaper in finland. Even with a 30% terif your looking at 780$ which is 300$ below what you looking at from the seller in germany. The words are nice, but if you use the knife enough to rub off the coating the words will eventually go with it.

But... getting people to ship to finland/europe is difficult, and your market is limited even more by looking for a specific model and configuration (HHFSH w/ mag smooth scales). If your looking for just that model and scale configuration, you can get it cheaper but you may have to wait quite a bit of time to find it. If you don't want to wait or risk not being able to find someone who has the model and is willing to ship to you, availability is important.

If your looking for a heavy chopper, Busse is likely going to produce the 11" bladed LBNMSHBM that should end up below 600$ direct from busse, who is willing to ship to europe (as far as I know and have read).

That depends -- if you have to have one just like that, you should probably just 'man up' and buy it.

If you're willing to accept a different configuration, you ought to be able to do better by looking for one here. HHFSH's or HOGFSH's are not that uncommon.

EDIT: I suppose you could buy one here with a different configuration and have it sent to Busse for a re-fit into your favored flavor ... before delivery to you. Might be a bit awkward, as some folks don't want to ship overseas -- but I've found Finland to be a pretty easy place to ship stuff, myself.

Before trying anything else I would drop Amy or Garth an email and ask if they have any HHFSH blanks in stock. Then get a quotation for your dream set up. You might be surprised. In a positive way ;)

That's also a possibility ...

A lot depends on how much extra the Finnish government will charge you for importing a big custom blade.

I want to thank you for your input gentlemen!
This forum-thing is new to me so are the Busse knives. But so far I've enjoyed the experience, and I can't wait for my first Busse knife. Which ever it's going to be...

For these years as a knife user I've been sporting Fallknivens or Fällknivens. Mostly A1s. I love 'em! But now I've been trying to find a scale larger blade with a litle bit more heft to it. A2 would be an easy way for me to go, but I have an itch for an INFI-steel blade.
I think at most an 8" blade would fit in to my system... But there's just so many options out there. And the availability is an issue here in Europe...

But I can tell you this my dear American knifepeeps... Ain't nothing special to deliver 'em blades here in Finland. Our money's good and we're honest people. Just one big water to send 'em cross. We eat McDonalds and drive Caddies here as well. We don't celebrate the 4th of july but they've been showing The Bold And The Beatifull here for last 20 years as well...:)
So preach the gospel my friends. It's allright to deliver international (At least to Finland).

Cheers!

That would be 26-30%...

Sorry to hear that.

Even so, you should be able to do better than $1,036 (US) by following some of the advice above.

Hang in there ... we're here to help.

BTW, there are several of my 'old' FBMs in Finland -- never had any trouble moving knives in that direction.
