I just got my June Field & Stream Magazine, which names the 20 best knives ever. The artical starts with a TWO page (68-69) picture of the FBM! It describes the knife as being good to cut up redwood trees, etc. They got that right.

Son of a biscuit eater! You guys think it was hard to find stuff at a reasonable price before, wait until the Field and Stream crowd starts sniffing around the trough. Cripes! :D

Great. I was just starting to make up for lost time. I sure hope Jerry makes more knives he doesn't like!!:D!!

With the recent return of CGSFNO's at shows, the SAR-5, the Cultellus, the last batch of Hell Razors, Boney AD's, thin convex ASH-1's and Game Wardens, I have a feeling that Busse has stepped up their production capabilities quite a bit.

Now they are in Field and Stream?

I have a feeling it's going to get a lot easier to buy a Busse or a lot harder.

You think there are a lot of HOGs now...

Guys and gals,

I have to admit I am a johnny come lately. :edit
I have 6 INFI products now and probably will never go back. Well maybe Swamp Rat, or Scrap Dog. But I took a SAR5 to work to show off today and it is a little hard to keep quiet about such a GREAT product. :foot:
I work with a bunch of hunters, fishermen, and all around outdoorsmen. Just trying to show them the best of the best.

Just my .02

Backpacker, I couldn't agree more, Busse make a strong blade! Hey Bro, ya might want to edit your post. That smiley is banned. Hammy will be along soon to eradicate it. Just a suggestion! By the way, I love my SAR also!

Yeah... I think the price of FBM's just went up!

The good news is that ONE will last a lifetime.

its funny you say this... i was the same way when i came over to the dark side. i used to be so enthusiastic about spyderco, BM, etc... then i got ahold of a swamp rat icepick/knife and it was all done after that. i dont even buy other knives now. seriously. i dont shop or purchase others knives. the busse family makes a knife or icepick or whatever else for all my needs and the toughness of sr101 and INFI is just not even nearly matched by any other knife company so i dont bother.

im glad busse is getting promotion in field and stream. i like all of us being secretive in some respects but i always welcome jerry and BC more promotion. the more people buying em, the more Jerry WILL make!

I wouldn't worry to much most of the Field & Steam crowd are the type that will spend $2000 for a scope and $500 plus for a rod and reel but thinks its crazy to spend more than $50 for a knife.

Now I have to check my mailbox.

I've often wondered why they aren't in something like American Handgunner or something. They put forth this USA RAH RAH RAH attitude and then constantly show uber-tac knives that are made IN CHINA!

Recognition is good. . . and bad. LOL Think of what the cost of Busse's would do if they had a Randall-esque type following.

That describes alot of my friends that hunt and fish...LOL

No, the ones who'll only spend $50 on a knife are the folks with $50 Simmons and Tasco scopes. And even I wouldn't pay $500 for a rod/reel combo unless I was going after Jaws. :p

But I think your overall point is correct. The F&S crowd is largely not one that's going to start shelling out $300 on average for each knife.

and what is truly funny is that if they could use the scopes and rods they buy, they would quickly realize the necessity of a good knife:confused:

Chiller is right on. Even the guys that write for the gear section and regularly sing the priases of Swarovski and Zeiss optics, and shoot thousands of rounds a year to find that one that is perfectly matched to their particular rifle, truely believe that knife evolution hit its peak with the buck 110. F&S had a piece a while back on the perfect knife, and it ended up being a mora.

However, by and large, any knife that will keep a decent edge and is designed for the task of cutting and slicing is sufficient for most hunters and fishermen. I don't think that we have to worry about F&S.
