We just got in a shipment of Busse Knives yesterday, and inside the boxes there are ads for the BladeRigger shoulder holster system, which the Busse Combat Basic sheaths are already modified to accept.

Don or James, could either of you give some more details on this system? I'm especially curious about how the sheath is fastened down to prevent it swinging about... I couldn't tell if there is a strap across the belly or something else entirely.

Thanks!

Wow!! Do tell us more about this!! I guess the Busses (Basics presumeably)that have this sheet included are the only ones that have the sheath modified. I already have a few inquiries as to a shoulder rig for the 7" Basic. Can the "unmodified" ones be "modified"? This would be fantastic! Whew.. I' ll slow down a bit.

I haven't seen the ads that come with the Busse basics yet, but i'd guess the Bladerigger harness system would be an associate. You can find out all about it on the bladerigger site.

Now I am interested in the Busse basics! The shoulder system is awesome. Check the site. Bud Nealy and Greg Lightfoot are now using it too.

Spark,

The attachment points for the sheath are one high and one low...one is at the end of the sheath and the other is at the other end, near the mouth of the sheath.

The way the Associate or Execulite Shoulder Rig is positioned with regards to the sheath itself, promotes a snug carry close to the body...it is all in the Sheath Attachment Points and how the straps work on the body, I have noticed no real "floppiness" to these rigs. They ride snug but comfortable. I hope that answered this to your satisfaction...there have been many attempts at shoulder rigging blades, with mixed results from very sad to very nice and effective and I think James is the only guy right now that is doing one that is viable.

I believe Tom Maringer was making a very nice one, I read about it in "Fighting Knives Magazine" some time ago, it looked really good with a clamshell Kydex sheath, where the knife came right out of the front of the sheath...very quick...the one that I seen pictured in the magazine...the knife was worn on the strong side...your knife hand reached down and grabbed it and snapped it out the front, it was not a cross-draw type of shoulder rig where your hand is placed across your chest...

I have to say I like James sheaths very much. But I love to try experimenting with new ways. I am just sending in an order for Stellar knives to make me a strong side shoulder sheath for my hobbit warrior to deploy in reverse grip. I can compare that with my execulite if anyone cares. They do make a sheath like Marringers old one that was in that Fighting Knives Mag.
