I tried posting this query on the Custom Knives forum after a lively discussion about Mad Dog knives, but the moderator determined that since Jerry Busse uses family members in the production of his blades, his operation is tantamount to a "factory" and not custom. I always thought the term "shopmade' applies, but agree that since Jerry doesn't do all the critical work himself, the "custom" term doesn't fly.
Anyhow, more to the point, I'd like to hear from those who have handled and used Busse's knives. I'm not interested in adiscussion about INFI steel as only his big Battle Mistress of recent vintage uses that so far.
How well do they perform? How well do they hold an edge? Is the handle comfortable or does it raise blisters under heavy use? You get the idea!
