Busse KZ (any kind) vs. Bark River Bolo III

No bother at all my man. Spine shot to show the difference in thickness too. No may to it, you need to get one, trust me. :)

Thanks man, definately looks like it was designed to chop. Once I free up some fun cash I may snag one.

Yes and Yes. If you have any questions you can ask at that other forum and he will answer.

Thanks, but I think I'll stay away from BRKT. I was a member of that other forum until I had an honest question about a knife and Mr. Stewart chimed in and said that a broken clam shell would cut better than any knife made by that particular company. Odd, because it was a question about liner locks, not cutting (just checked the site, BRKT doesn't even make folders...). Anyway, it's bad business to trash your competition... I thought he was just being snide, but to find out he runs a competing company...

Integrity of the maker counts as much as any material or design...

I have to admit it, but my Bark River Grasso Bolo III is one beastie of a chopper. Now, just to clear the air a bit, I'm not a Bark River fanboy, but I do own several and they are great knives. I've also had a Busse Battle Mistress, but decided to sell it to fund more toys. This is also a great chopper, but the main difference for me was the handle/blade balance, the Bolo III is a bit more blade heavy, which I prefer in a heavy chopper. However, I think that the Busse is more durable because of the INFI steel, but it does make it harder to field sharpen than the Bolo III's 5160 steel. In my opinion, both the Bark River and Busse are fairly similar in their chopping capabilities, so the choice is a purely personal one.

I couldn't agree more and after doing a little research and reading the bashing on the other forums I'd have to say I'm just going to save up for another Busse. It's a shame that BR folks couldn't just prove a product by performance and customer service.
