I tried using an AK as a machete, but found it wasn't nearly slicey enough. But I think a reprofiled AK like Ban used to do would do machete-type work pretty well.

In the absence of Chuckette for all, I try to make do with these.

Would vote Boom Parang and 1311 for machete duty, haven't used the Rucki enough yet to say how it stacks up.

Several of us are on record asking for a true machete, no more than 1/8" thick, in SR101, at least 18" long. INFI is too expensive for this application. As noted above, the stock must be thin to function properly as a machete. Rucks and AKs just don't cut it.
