Busse model like Lean Mean Street, but 5" blade?

I'm wondering if Busse ever made a knife with the same basic, minimalist design as the LMS, but with a 5 to 5.5" blade?

(I've got a BATAC LE, but want something with less mass.)

BA III @ 4.5", Basic 5 @ 5" (but w/ Resiprine C handle), or (SH) SJ @ 6" would seem to be the closest. Also the SHBA @ 4.5" but all are long out of production, highly sought after, and fairly expensive.

One of these?

It's got a different handle, but ya might wanna look at the HG55. It's got a thinner (top to bottom) blade, and is about 5".

Guyon, you are killin' me with that BadgerIII LE. Man that's a beautiful knife.

Tanker A, Euro 4, BAIII might be the best examples of what you asked compared to a LMS type but none quite match your length request.

It's a BAIII LE (old Badger Attack - straight handle) $$$

Ya, that would be very close to what I'm looking for.

Ideally a SAR5, but with a quillon/slip guard or whatever you want to call it. I just don't particularly trust a knife (or I guess myself) without one.

It's for backpacking/general survival knife. Small clip point, otherwise straight spline with no double cut. I'm really surprised Busse doesn't seem to have a few knives in this area.

If you're in the market for a 5" piece of INFI for backpacking/survival, where light weight is always appreciated, you really can't afford not to buy one of these right now:

Thanks for the tip Will. That does indeed look like exactly what I'm looking for. I checked the ScrapYard site, but they don't seem to have any- care to give a guy a hint where he could find one?

Sweet, thanks. Can you anyone tell me what is the thickness before I pull the trigger? No sense in getting another knife like the batac le that's a .25

The Scrapper 5 in CG or Combat Grade had these specs:

The Specs are as follows:
Steel: SR101
Handle: Resiprene C Mudder Style
Blade Length: 5 1/4"
Blade Thickness: Approx. 3/16" Possibly thinner at .165"
Overall Length: 10 1/4"

So, I'd imagine the LE is the same. I think this knife will do everything you want.

Haven't seen a thickness quoted, but from the buzz on the Scrapyard forum the consensus seems to be about the same as the coated S5--apparently in the 3/16" range. I've searched their forum and have not seen Dan Busse contradict that figure, so I assume it's true. I wish he'd publish/confirm the thickness, also.

3/16" would be consistent with the thickness on the SS4, which is the only other SY blade issued in INFI to date, AFAIK.

Thanks for posting those specs, OP.

Will
