Busse Neck Knife!

Since the folder is going to be another two weeks until it's release how about Jerry gives us a neck knife! I'd prefer that anyway. I was thinking a 2" 2 finger mini ASH or a 3" 3 finger mini ASH or both. What does everbody think? Lets rally together and maybe the big guy will give it to us! I need a MI legal EDC.

Ahh a fellow Michigander! I too must deal with measly 3inch rule... I'd go for a 3 inch anything Busse!

Those are both great choices.

Not the HACK Bear cub though, those are way too small.

I would be willing to take some off of all those who are disappointed with them for disposal

The original Busse neck knife, Assault Shaker!

And the Skeleton Key is a great one as well

I think I'd be down for a 3" bladed neck knife at .125" thick. Thin micarta scales that you could get at least three finger on.
Any thicker would be more weight than I would want in a neck knife.

Right now my EDC's are CRKT minimalist, Eskabar, and a big 'ol folder that I rotate. I was considering a Mini Tracker but for that price BRING ON THE INFI!!

From my understanding it's been in the works for years.

I know some folks will not agree with this, but I think an INFI folder is just downright pointless. What's the point in using a steel that tough/strong in a folder? The attachment/lock would fail long before the blade would so what's the point?

On the same token, I believe that Swamp Rat & Scrap Yard has the best neckers for the money. The extra toughness of INFI is not really necessary IMO for a knife that small, and you really don't get much more for the extra dollars buying a Busse necker.

My favorite necker as of now is the Scrapivore, which is only $50 direct from the Yard. At 60-62 RC, it takes a great edge and holds it for a VERY long time. As a bonus, there is no choil to get in the way or reduce edge length. As a bonus, you should soon be able to purchase scales for Scrapivores from the member Bpiatt here at Blade Forums. I would like to urge anybody who is interested in these to visit the thread below and mention that they would like a set, as he needs at least 30 people willing to purchae to be able to do a production run on these.

Also, you must take into account that police might not necessarily have an ACCURATE means of measuring blade length in the field, and the 2.75" blade would give a little extra margin of error (which could possibly keep you out of jail OR from getting the knife confiscated). Being that I spent most of my life a few miles away from Detroit, I know very well that the unfortunate fact is that you could face a **FELONY** for violating Michigan knife laws.

I agree with what you are saying which is why I'm fond of the necker. I'd way rather carry a fixed blade knife. (opps I missed the rest of your post) That's all good info and food for thought. I do like the Scrapivor. I just really love the idea of a baby/mini ASH. The ASH is sexy!

Sorry, I edited my post a couple of times....:)

I've had a Magnum Bear Cub in the past, and while it is a great knife it is quite expensive for what you get. They cost more than 3x what a Scrapivore would run you, but I doubt you'd notice much difference between the two except for the handles......
