Busse Neck Knife!

Sorry, I edited my post a couple of times....:)

I've had a Magnum Bear Cub in the past, and while it is a great knife it is quite expensive for what you get. They cost more than 3x what a Scrapivore would run you, but I doubt you'd notice much difference between the two except for the handles......

The fact that someone is making micarta for the Scrap now makes me more keen on it.

Ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

:)

I'm going to need a sweet sheath for my TGLB when it comes so I can open carry it. Although I had the DNR warn me about the size of knife I carry outside of hunting season... SUPER LAME!

Well u can open carry any size u want technically, of course most people will ask you to leave their store if u have a katana on your back

I'm not sure this is entirely true, especially in larger cities because there is not a law which restricts cities from enacting their own laws regarding knives and weapons. It isn't like pistols, where the state has stipulated the open carry is legal and no city or county can make laws to overrule this. The city I grew up in, Livonia, has a law stating knives over 3" cannot be carried on the streets and I believe that Detroit is the same way. I don't believe it mentions open or concealed carry, so I took it to mean either.

Hey RF, never visit Michigan.

I'm not going to argue this, outside of the Great Lakes and the many inland lakes there really isn't much going for them right now.....:thumbdn:

Detroit or Flint...... don't even get me started! Nice places to visit if you don't mind getting mugged, car jacked, shot, stabbed, raped, murdered, robbed, etc.....

I've yet to regret moving out to CO.....:)

I grew up Downriver and I work at US Steel I must say in my time here I have almost been stabbed behind a fish truck and saw a body floating down the river among other things. The only things keeping me here is family and now my job. The necker would be a great all around knife for me.

I've had similar experiences, unfortunately. I came very close to taking bullet in the head by a would be carjacker when I was about 18, at such close range that I had unburned gun powder on my face from the muzzle blast. The same bullet mind you, passed through my friends legs (the driver) and tore a hole in his jeans without touching him. We retrieved the slug from the door of his Lexus as it didn't penetrate. It was an unexpanded .45 ACP hollow point which had it's cavity stuffed full of foam from the seat it passed through before hitting the door panel, ugh......

Whoa aaaa_cccc sorry to hear it. I hear CO is very nice! Which knife would you want as a necker? It'd be pretty sweet if the TGM had a 3" blade!!

I'm wearing my Scrapivore as a necker right now, definitely my favorite currently. I've worn knives as large as the Basic 4 LE Magnum around my neck, but I must say that something which is thin, light and short overall is desired to be a great neck carry knife.

The Scrapivore with the standard Mashed Cat sheath weigh in at about 3 ounces, the knife itself weighs only 1.8 oz. In my experience it carries like a dream, I usually don't even notice it's there until I need to use it for something.

You all speak of lower Michigan as if it's all of Michigan maybe you should head north and get some fresh air... Have you even been across the bridge? Doesn't sound like it....

City folk so sad......

I've spent a good amount of time in Northern Michigan, it is quite beautiful and relaxing especially in summer. It's not all bad in Michigan, I just grew up in the Detroit area and spent most of my time in that urban sprawl. I just don't want to spend anymore time in that hell hole (Metro Detroit)......;)

I used some paracord to make a "Super Cobra" braid lanyard for my Scrapivore.

It helps me get a grip on the knife when unsheathing from the Mashed Cat sheath.

Also, I can lay the lanyard in my palm to create a hand filling grip when using the knife. It definitely makes a big difference with hand fatigue when using the knife for extended periods.....
