Busse Neck Knives?

I like neck carry, you can get your knife with either hand as opposed to just your strong side hand. if some one is holdin your one hand you can still access your knife with the other. I am a welder so I wear T-shirts untucked so this is easy for me. if you wear a suit with shirt tucked in it would be hard to get the knife with either hand so I guess it depends on you clothing . also I can carry a knife when skinny dipping:D , lets see ya do that with out neck carry. lol

Just resort to hood rat methods.....keep a razor in your mouth.

You ever heard of a Jail house Wallet.....:barf:

Or keistered / Keister Locker :barf:

I think I will stick to pockets:eek::D

LOL. Necessity is the mother of invention. Glad having a blade with me while running hasn't become quite that necessary yet.

You bring you own reality to the context which I find quiet silly. Though I respect you Job, few books on the subject out there, will disagree your statement too.

30 years of personal experience vs. a few books...hmmmm.
Well whatever, perhaps this would be better if discussed in PracTac? ;)

Back on topic, I like neckers and own quite a few, both Busse(kin) and others. With the laws PA. has about open carry and the fact that I'm the type of guy that wears t-shirts untucked, I carry them outside the shirt fairly often to stay within the laws when I want to carry a small fixed blade...

This HACK Bear Cub usually rides with my keys, but can easily be converted to be worn as a necker in this unique Chuddy Bear sheath.

...And then there's my old standby... a "Black Jaxx" (;)) Skelly Warden in a Buy Brown kydex sheath.

I also have a Swamp Warden in a Mashed Cat necker sheath that I wear as well and now a couple of Scrapivores too, also in some Mashed Cat kydex.

This Game Warden variant is set up for pocket carry in this Chuddy Bear sheath... It's "left-handed" to be worn inside my right front pocket, clip out, or on my left side belt. The clip is removable if I feel the need for a more secure carry on the belt, but usually it rides in the right pocket when worn. :)

I've tried one, but couldn't stand something hanging around my neck. A knife like the AD in a kydex sheath in the front left hand pocket of my jeans works best for me.

With a little practice it's easy to flick the sheath free as I'm drawing the knife out of my pocket.

In the gym, I have a sheath that carries a Swamp Warden between my butt cheeks, which not long after, meets Swamp Ass.

Seriously though, I find that anything bigger/heavier than a Ti kiridashi is cumbersome around the neck, and even that is somewhat uncomfortable already.

I've used a Culti for a neckknife for a few years now, not for protection but as my smaller woods knife, it and my Sar 6 pretty much handle everything.

Contrariwise, books too.. are based much more extended experience than 30 years, & names to rely on too:yawn:............etc.:D

When someone says 'in my experience', it generally means that they have witnessed a similar or identical incident first hand. If every book every produced on the subject says 'no prisoner will ever grab your tie, it just doesn't happen', but I see it happen first hand twice, I'm not going to care what those books say because my experience will have shown me that their opinion is not representative of the reality of my work place. I can't speak for stricknine and his experience, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until I hear otherwise. I certainly won't blow off all of his potential first hand experience in the prison system because a series of books say otherwise.

I like neckers for the woods. For SD I prefer a USPc. Out in the woods I love my Koster. It is small, light, and easy to get to. Not much for knives for SD. That is not why I usually have a knife (which I always do), in a pinch certainly but never my reasoning for carry.

Why books when we have the net....right?

I am a former commando with 30 years and 1 day of experience, I fought in 26 different countries, & I can tell you right now.... that with my Bandana I can split the Pentagon in 2. I'm sharing this information with you for academic study only.:D

The internet should be taken with two grains of salt, one for those who choose to spread false information, and one those who choose tell the truth. Not everyone lies about thier past on the internet. Books are no different, both ways.

If I had to choose a neck knife I'd probably go with the skeleton key, or possibly a de-handled and modified to be choiless cultellus.

If only busse combat would make an INFI versiong of the rat tail. The one I owned:

and compared to a cultellus. More edge, less handle, a generally more compact design.

The Bearcub makes a great light and serviceable necker closely followed by the Rattail.
