Busse Newb With Dumb Questions

Busse Newb here. A couple years ago, I got my first Busse, a Swamp Rat. Great knife! Recently, I was checking out the Busse for sale forum. Bought 7 Busse's in the past 2 months (used and new).

A couple I got from the Busse site. I seem to prefer the Forsaken and Nuclear Meltdown, with Competition Finish.

The HR2 I just got is Forsaken, but does not have the Nuclear Melt Down. Yesterday, I ordered a Forsaken Trough Raider, also does not have Nuclear Meltdown.

I did not see a way to order a Nuclear Meltdown option on the site while ordering. How can I ask for this while ordering from the site?

Also, is it possible to send in my new HR2, back to the shop, to get the meltdown? Or, is that considered "Custom Shop", which is not currently taking new orders.

Nuclear meltdown can be acquired by emailing a special request order to Busse. You can also ship up to 5 knives at a time to Jerry for nuclear meltdown
Treatment. Also little known fact... even though the custom shop is not open for ordering custom knives. You can still request them to make any knife that has already been produced in the past. Welcome to the madness. I hope this was helpful. Happy april first.

That's exactly how I got my mammoth grip Killa Zilla with comp finish and nuclear meltdown. Got it two weeks from when I ordered it. OP should call them today.

I called Busse and asked about the possibility of adding the Nuclear Meltdown to a knife order. Was told that only offerings, that specify that option in the default knife description, get the Nuclear Meltdown. It is not an option to add to just any knife order.

Sorry I think the two members were having a bit of fun with you due to today being April fools day.
They did not know/recognize you were asking a legit question. Not everyone is well versed in Busse practices.
You would think that you announcing that you were new would do it but they must have missed it.

welcome to the Busse family.

On the contrary, i think they both knew exactly cutchu is new.
And every new family member requires a rite of passage properly done by respected senior members :p
Welcome :D

April Fools Day is always a bunch of fun! Let the fooling (and drinking) begin!
April Fools comes but once a year. I could not resist! :D
I was telling the truth about one thing... Welcome to the madness! You can get a lot of good info from this Busse Swamp Scrap family. There will always be a knowledgeable hog who is willing to pass some Busse knowledge your way. Some guys will mess with you a little and some guys are just good to the core, like David Brown. Welcome to the family brother!

I appreciate the welcome. When I was carousing through the Busse For Sale section, I had no intention of buying. Definitely hooked now.

There are a couple more that I have my eye on. Also trying to get a couple sheaths (leather). Seems like the few makers that I have asked about taking new work, are booked up right now and not taking on any new work for a while.

Can you actually request any past knife from them? Is this true or was it an April Fool's joke?

I’m still trying to decide if that was more:
A) Hilarious or
B) Evil
Definitely a good dose of each - you had me going for a second there! :p

Definitely evil. Nothing more evil than giving hope than taking it away.

I'm just kidding. It was pretty funny.
