The bottom is a Ratmandeux: satin finish with black paper micarta, has a double guard, convex grind and is a bit longer - it was never offered in any other way.
Standard Ratmandu on top: shorter blade, single guard, coated blade and saber grind - you can and could get them with all different blade finished and handle types. There were a few Ratmandu Prototypes sold at the Knobb Creek show that were the same length as the Ratmandeux, but still a coated blade.
