BUSSE or Kin you thought you'd hate, until you grabbed it....

For me it's the Battle Shark:
*I thought the name was goofy-- reminded me of Sharknado.
*I thought the blade looked awkward. Reminded me of a submarine profile.
*Didn't like the quillions.

Then I held one and it became very apparent-- This is a hard use combat knife that would NEVER let you down when called upon. I'll put it this way, in terms some HOGS will relate to...If Daryl Dixon only had time to grab a TG or a Battle Shark, he'd reach for the Shark every time-- that is, if he didn't get nostalgic. ;)

The handle is like holding a little piece of paradise. BUSSE blades' ergos are great for me <except for BATAC> but the Battle Shark is unlike any model I've ever melted into. It's truly gotta be held to understand!

Most BUSSE's all it takes is a look-- and you KNOW. The Battle Shark wasn't like that for me...I had to actually lay hands on one to "get it--" then "I GOT IT!"

Here's the one "I GOT!" Enjoy and post up your Hate but Loved Busse/Kin...

I like this one a lot. Very nice blade indeed. I've actually never seen this one before. Was this part of a Ganza? Reminds me of the Team Gemini, just much cooler looking.

Thank You...I love my Battle Shark...I'm gonna trail another one down and strip her!

Here's the original release thread on the Battle Shark:

Thanks for the response. Can't believe I missed out on this one.... This one looks very appealing to me. She sure is a beaut. That was an excellent price for the uniqueness of that blade. I'll be sure to lookout for one of those also. Thanks for posting such a nice blade. Enjoy!!

Cheers!

Boss Jack. When the BG version came up during O2W I had absolutely no interest in it. It just looked to me like a gamblers boot knife. Something to put between someone's ribs and not good for much else. I got one in a grab bag and I have no problem admitting that I couldn't have been more wrong about it. It's an awesome "bushcrafter". Pretty much a badass Kephart with a little more length which should be nice for batoning, while keeping a balance that is absolutely perfect.

I have been wanting a battle shark, and have not pulled trigs because of your same initial misgivings...they have been growing on me and I would love one with micarta scales.

Or ones you thought youd like but loved. Picked up a sfno.... it looks okay but kinda plain in pictures but absolutely perfect in person... example:

Now look at it again

I would have to say the most surprisingly comfortable knife I have ever received was the UGLE - I had no expectations, and I had to buy based on looks and then I held it, and that has to be the most comfortable handle I have held on a Busse...

Also - I bought a BIBB not knowing what to expect and that is the second most comfortable Busse I own and the balance and feel is up there with the best of 'em.

The sharks g10 pattern is pretty sweet, but i think those infi ratweilers a few weeks back might have it beat: Ratweiler_INFI_Knife__82703.1503417808.1280.1280-1.jpg

I never got one that I thought I didnt like, but if I ever get my hands on a sus scrofa, mini muk or baby boom and end up liking them I'll bump this thread :D:cool::thumbsup:

The baby boom surprised me, not enough to keep it but it was cool. The handle angle us slanted making the front corner stick put like a muk. My impression before I held it was more like a mini cleaver.

The first busse knife I ever held was a satin WTF. I had only heard about them and seen pictures online, didn’t understand why people would want that. Holy sh!t that thing is awesome! It’s impressively huge, but totally useable at the same time. I do not own one yet.

Boom Parang. I thought I wouldn't like it. Picked it up and it is wicked sharp from the factory and the ergos are great. really digging it.

Basic 11, Asym ground.
I had no faith in that handle or grind...
I was so very wrong!
I cry
Every night
Over all the Basics just languishing for cheap
On the X, even still in stores back in the day...tearing up now just thinkin' about them...lol :D

...But thanks to the Bossman, I have the newer ones, and that B11 which woke me AF to Res-C. :) :)
(And a thankful nod to Will York on that Asym grind!)

Was really hoping I wouldn't get a Pork Chop in my bag but the second I grabbed that handle it latched onto me, I still haven't had the chance to throw it but I'm pretty sure I could cut a car in half with it; as a matter of fact since then I've been trying to score a matching Battle Shark.
Have yet to see one on the exchange though, in any color which tells me my suspicions are correct because I always thought they looked F-ING excellent!
Great to see this little review!
