Busse owners who own Swamp Rats too?

about 95 percent of all my knives are Busse,

but i love the Swamp Rats also, I have a Swamp Rat Safari Skinner that I snaged at the Blade 2004 show in Atlanta.

I have been putting off ordering a few other Rats, but I will defenitly be ordering some Rat's in the future, I especially like the Ratwieler and the Rat Daddy

I am a new owner of both Busse and Swamp Rats. To me the performance envelope of either is honestly beyond my needs. In any case, I currently have a pair of rat traps (one for the boy) a satin jack tac (black w/snakeskin) and a battlerat while I await the release of the fusion battle mistress. (Then the boy will get the battlerat too.) I will also probably pick up a couple of skeleton keys if they ever show up in the company store. Oh yeah, I pretty much must have a hell razor as well.

As stated, either will take more punishment than a weekday desk jockey like me can dish out.

I think klstay has it right. For most uses, either will give you all the performance you want. I keep abusing my BA3, but it never seems to show any signs of wear. Even after I used it to pry some boards apart and saw the blade bend. I had to repeat it just to be sure my eyes were not just getting tired. The dang blade had a bend in it but when I released the pressure there was no sign of it. I don't usually do that sort of thing, but its nice to know that the blade can take more than it usually gets.
I have long since stopped worrying about hitting rocks or whatever when I'm clearing trails with my Battlerat.
My old beater brush clearing knife (a pre-Benchmade PAcific Cutlery 440C blade) is missing so many chunks from its edge I could use it as a saw. No sign of that on my BR.
So they are both great knives. I tend to use my rats in cold weather more when that Res C handle really shines. I don't have any large Busses - I use the ones I have as chore/utility/etc knives. Both get the job done.

I dont have Busse knives at this time, but I will eventually. There is no rush. I am still young. Anyone who claims to use their Rats or Busses hard enough to notice a difference in performance is probably a liar These knives laugh at abuse! IMO, they are the pinnacle of high performance production knives. Rats are more affordable, Busses are a little fancier and more highly finished, with slightly better materials and lots of options. So either way you are getting what you pay for and a lot more. These are knives that hold their value and feature the best warranties on the planet. They also come from the same dang factory. So. . . cant we all just get along?:p

on the other hand, you have to admit it is a very cunning move to offer Swamp Rats at good prices to the average joe, and once he is hooked- reel him into the trough. ;)

Hell, pigs will eat cheese, they will eat anything. So will rats. So pigs are like large bald rats with hooves and curly tails. this proves something but I dont know what it is. . .

But we're not SUPPOSED to get along. ;)

In Jennifer's own words: "I was given the directive to "aggressively come after Busse Combat"."

To me that reads "compete" as in "THEY are the competition" as in "neener neener, my cheese is better than your slop" kinda competition. ;)

:D

Ah, so come morning the Busse guys show up for work and Bam! booby traps! Clever, very clever. That'll teach'em. :D

(I guess it is pretty aggressive to sell competing blades from the same table  )

The majority of the hand tools I own are made by Snap-on but I do have some by Mack, Matco & Craftsman. The most used and reliable, IMHO, are Snap-on. Can I fix a car with the others, heck ya. Have they failed me or broken, not really. I just perfer the feel and use of the best.

In some ways it's the same for Busse and SRKW knives. I've owned both. I have recently sold off my Rat collection to purchase more Busse. I guess that means I'm a Hog... but like what has been said I got here because of the other fine knives I've own. Busse is the best I've seen thus far. Doesn't mean I won't keep looking but I doubt I'll find anything better.

I bought a Ratweiler, and then an SFNO, and then my credit card went into permanent melt down.

I enjoy owning and using both Busses and Swamp Rats, and (as yet) they have been playing together nicely out in the world and in the safe.

We are too many. You don't stand a chance. ;)

Easy oinker....

maybe rats can't be hogs and hogs can't be rats...but I'd bet that when the chips were down and you were standing there with nothing in your hands....you would be happy to have the rats in your corner....:D
