Busse Pants..? Am I crazy?

The only way to fashion a pair of leather pants that will make you look manly is to make it out of alligator skin and use the head as a codpiece. Even then...

:D Some LOL posts in this ...

Pants never make good load carriers .... your waist and a belt eventually cause the pants to need constant hitching up ... the best method is your shoulders.

I used a leather skeet vest for years ... big lower pockets which could conceal a pistol in hand ... a snubby would work well or a mini Glock or similar. If shooting through the pocket were necessary it was doable. The pockets would take plenty of ammo and it came with a leather inside pocket for a mobile which was great for that or carrying a knife. I used a custom folder or a 4 inch fixed blade with a kydex clip sheath. The jacket could take good first aid kit - sanitary towels and tampons and cling film for GSW's - condoms and puri tabs for emergency water carriers - you could cope with a lot with that jacket as a casual form of "body armour vest." You could take it off without showing an obvious shoulder holster or belt holster and mags. It had a good leather loop to hang it up too which coped with the weight.

Easy to wear in many climates ... and much more comfortable than leather pants :D

This thread reminds me of Beyond Thunderdome for some reason.

"Two men enter. One man leaves!!!"

"Spin the wheel raggedy man!" LOL:D

Okay, i'll admit that this was a dumb idea... There were several very good points made (and some hilarious ones too)

It never even occurred to me to think about how hot they might be. Too hot for summer, and not warm enough for winter.

I certainly have no idea how comfortable leather pants might be, as i've never actually had a pair ON.

I also didn't consider the consequences of having a load on my pants as opposed to my belt. It now seems pretty obvious that something as heavy as a TGLB would drag your pants down a lot.

It seemed to me that leather would be pretty tough for moving through the woods, but so are my carhart pants. Seems pretty obvious that i'm going to want to go a different way with this thought

FWIW, i was thinking more this (but like brown rawhide)

"Non-Ghey leather pants" Omfg My sides hurt reading that! :D but seriously denim with a leather sheath built-in would work.

Clearly you need a survival kilt.
