Busse Presents Fatback Defender, The Ergo Public Defender, & 2G Ergo Battle Mistress

You might want to check the Exchange for that one. When those came out in 2008, Jerry said:

You wouldn't want Jerry to go back on his word, would you?

Tex,
In your opinion/experience, how does the FFBM stack up
against the NMFBM?
And what does "Sterile" mean when applied to Busse knives?
Thanx man....

Sterile means there is no logo or wording on the knife

I tried to stack them, but they kept falling over.

I haven't actually used a NMFBM, or a FFBM, for that matter. I already had a user FBM LE when those came out, and never felt the need to use anything else. It's a great chopper.

The specs on the FBM LE and the FFBM are pretty close, so I'd expect it to perform similarly well. The FFBM is 0.32" thick, versus 0.312 for the FBM LE. The NMFBM is an inch and a half longer, and on thinner, at 0.25."

The two on top are NMFBMs, an FFBM in the middle, and two FBM CGs on the bottom:

And here's just the NMFBM and the FFBM:

Here's a comparison of the thickness of the NMFBM and FFBM:

And here's one with the CGs:

That FFBM is drop dead gorgeous-Have a FBM LE which is one of my Grail Knives-Congrats

JohntheTexican, THANK YOU!
That really puts things into perspective for me.
Just looking at them I imagine the NMFBM prolly being a bit better chopper due to her length and well rounded physique.....the FFBM I see as pretty much indestructible!
Man.....thanx again.

Several people have said that the NMFBM outperformed the FFBM. I've never used a FFBM, but my NMFBM will substantially out chop my CGFBM. But the CGFBM swings easier. They are both their own kind of perfect

Congrats....I don't even have a real mistress yet. Just a Battle Saw which kinda counts as a Mistress??? I got to say that 11" makes for a beast of a chopper.

Thank you.

And Congratz! @11" and .220 Ill bet that Battle Saw is a monster....

The NMFBM will out chop either the FBM or FFBM-as far as a 1 knife solution however the FBM or FFBM or very, very, hard to beat-Of all the knives I own, I would never consider parting with my FBM LE-NEVER

The Fatboy Defender is history-Congrats to all who scored an Impressive knife!!!

I waited until the last minute. I ordered a BMe on Friday and thought I was done. Got the last call for Fatback Sunday & ignored it. Then started reading this thread & looking more closely at the pictures and I couldn't take it anymore. I refreshed the page and it was still there so I ordered a Fatback with tan/black G-10 at 17:27 west coast time. A few hours later it was gone. I wonder if I got the last one. I don't usually go for tantos, but this one is different; looks more rounded where the 2 edges meet. Despite having 19 orders in during O2W, this is my first Custom Shop, I'm excited.

I was looking at the same thing. Comparing it to the other defenders, the angle point between the long edge and front edge is definitely rounded. I like it. Also unlike any of my other Tanto knives, this looks to have a nice curve on the long edge. Should make it a much better slicer as well.

I cant wait for it to ship out. Going to be amazing.
