The Ratmandu is an extremely popular knife. In INFI, it's gotta be a (maybe the) winner. Can't go wrong and very easy to sell if you don't like it.

What John says about the batac is spot on, this is how I feel, it's a bit bulky for the blade length , I would say Sob or Rmd INFI either way you can loose, the rmd is a bit longer but it's finger choil makes it extremely nimble , the Sobs choil is a bit small for use but the blade and handle are very balanced , I have both and plan to keep both

I don't have a SOB but do a a few of the original run SHBA's and to me the RMD blows them away in hand.
Similar OAL but a little longer blade on the RMD.
RMD's rule.

On a side note this has me thinking that I should start another SHBA passaround soon. :-)

I'm in for that, I love Oldschool busses , I have shsh2, shbm, Noe , BAe , never had a chance to see/use an shba and have always wanted to
 
That's a great group of knives to try to choose from, good luck! I know that I would have a terrible time trying to decide.
 
SOB is a great knife.
For me the Ratmandu doesn't fit my hands near as well.
Can't comment on the BATAC but BAE is a sweet one!
 
i like the BATAC LE it is a wide blade but, i sharpened mine to a pretty scary sharp cutting blade i honestly cant test how sharp it is without it cutting into my thumb(gave up trying, it shaves hair and slices paper), i dont really chop things with knives(if i had to i would) i like the BATAC for an extremely overbuilt knife that would hold its own in any situation, it took me while to really get used to the blade(and mostly the handle)but i find it to be extremely versatile now that i have warmed up to it, it is big but legal to carry in Tx, i find it to be a pretty serious self defense tool, pretty stabby and pretty choppy, especially for a Tx Legal to carry knife..
i thought i was kinda nuts for lusting after a SOB but after seeing others who own all three of the knives discussed i dont feel too bad about it..i really want a SOB in red/black frag G10 to go with my carry 1911 with the same grips..
 
I still have a batac, but the heft of the big handle vs blade length isn't my favorite.

I have several RMD's. I like sr101 edge retention better than infi, so no infi-du for me. Besides that, I eschew G10 on most blades now in favor of canvas or linen micarta.

ABA is an all-time favorite of mine. I love the SOB too. I think the RMD is a bit more capable given the usable choil, but I am very happy with owning an RMD and also a SOB.

Try a regular RMD, and see how it fits your hand. Plenty of SOB's on the secondary market too.
 
I suggest buying all three....but ONLY in the SAME color!!!

That is a really great photo, and show's how much larger the BATAC handle is.

I think I am leaning toward the SOB, But I love the larger choil on the INFIratmandu..

Thank you for all the different perspective's on these Knife's...
 
This is the skinnier of my two BATACs and it does seem to sit in the hand and balance a little better. It rode around with me a good bit in the bush this year. Last trip my constant complanion with a stripped RMD, cant say I felt under equipped with that either..!!!

 
As many have already said, the RMD (even in basic CG) is no slouch. Not taking anything away from the others, just showing RMDs rock..

 
^^^^ I like that shot Mickey. RMD is a bit longer with large choil. I like the large choil. Prefer the SOB pommel though.
