Busse throwing.

Great idea gimmegr. A lot of people are in the process of tearing out giant, old trees as they remodel. Maybe I'll get lucky.

Here are a few pics...

These two pics show the grip I used. I am no expert knife thrower so this may be wrong but it works for me. I made sure I extended my arm completely while doing this. And I varied my distance a little but not enough to say I am comfortable at several ranges. That just means I need more practice. Oh darn. ;)

If you guys want, I could do a quick clip where you can actually see me throw the knife so you can see my body mechanics. But again, I am no expert. Just a beginner.
Here is a pic of the tip. Unphased other than coating revoval. :)

Anyway, this was just fun and a good cure for cabin fevor as I was stuck at my house all day yesterday.

Just drive out to Rancho Cucamonga near 19th and Miliken area right after a good santa ana wind storm. You will find many fallen trees out there. That is where I use to go get wood. Take a chain saw to make quick work of it. There are a lot of Big Eucalyptus trees out there.

good thread by the way. It's amazing if you really think about it. I have been throwing my hollow rivet mistress for around 8 years or more and I never even thought that it would break, but if you listen to what people will tell you, they will say that a high Rc knife should not be thrown because they can break. Typical throwing knives are mid/hi 40's to low 50's in hardness, to make sure they don't shatter. I have shttered many knives over the years. Cold Steel's Carbon V was notorious. So was ontario. If they had been softer it would probably been ok.

Thanks for the tree info Cobalt. I know that area. Not far from me at all. "COME ON WIND"! :)

Hey guys. I just went out into the yard and made a quick clip showing me actually throwing my NO-E. Probably not the best form and all but I am not a "knife thrower". Just having fun.

I decided to go for the whole deal and start with a draw. Not a quick draw yet but fun none the less. :)

Ok try not to laugh too hard, here is a pick of me getting ready to throw my BM-E. I had lots of good video of me throwing it and my favorite hatchet but I some how deleted them from my camera while trying to upload them onto the computer. I'll try to make some more actual videos tomorrow. btw, I have discovered that I am much more proficient with the hatchet(sticking it about 9 out of 10 times) than with the BM-E (sticking it only about 3 out of 10 times) I guess it just takes practice:thumbup:

LOL. :p

I did the exact same thing yesterday some how. :D

I can't wait to see the BM-E being tossed.

Since some of you seem so close, they're doing a major street widening on Cherry Ave. in Fontana just south of the 10 freeway (between Slover and Jurupa). LOTS of eucalyptus and whatever else cut down. I don't have anything that would cut (or lift) a nice trunk like Cobalt's though. (Wow- that sounded wrong)

Grip: I will take a pic later to illustrate. Pics say things I can't. :)

Trunk: Yeah, I definately need that. The stupid plywood I was using had a lot of flex and bounce. Many, many times I hit it tip first but it would bounce back because of this. A "Cobalt" style trunk would rule. I'm not sure where to look in my area though. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

They're not unknown out here. Unfortunately, the cost of shipping them would be prohibitive. Still, if ye seek -- ye shall find.
