Soley out of curiosity, has anyone ever returned a blade to Busse under warranty? If so, for what reason and how was your experience?

Out of a minor hog's share of Busse knives, I have returned two new ones because of cosmetic or QC issues.

The first was in 1995, the other this year. In both cases, I contacted the shop, talking to Jerry the first time and Garth the last. Both times the issue was handled to my complete satisfaction. Both times the world knew nothing of it because I think that we owe them the courtesy of a chance to make things right without a public airing.

I have never had a warranty issue due to knife damage, but have no doubt that if I did it would be handled in the same expeditious way.

I think that if Cliff is allowed to Return his totally abused Basic 7 without issue, then anything can be returned. I remember hearing from Jerry that Cliffs Basic 7 looked more like a toothpick than a knife because of the regrinding cliff did throughout the years.

best warranty out there, no if and/or butts about it.

I had one warranty issue with an old style mean street. Because of my massive strength ;) I screwed up the tip. I sent it in and it was fixed better than new, (they put new tan scales on it at no cost to me)

I also sent in a Badger Attack-e once to be resharpened, it had been used and abused. It was sharpened and also refinished and sent back with a nice Double cut finish.

I was very happy with both experiences.

:D:D

I'd like to raise a question if you guys wouldn't mind. Would Busse be willing to accept to resharpen and refinish a knife from a second-hand owner? Which is in this case me, coz two months ago I was able to buy a used Heavy Heart with lots of scratches on the finish, but at a very good price.

This is not a problem. You should contact the shop. I believe there is no charge for the sharpen but there will likely be a charge for a refinish. The only additional charge would be the shipping from the shop back to you.

I figure if ya accidentaly ran it over with a tank, You wouldn't even have to wipe the tread marks off it. Then again? I feel sorry for the tank:D

You raise another reason that the Busse warranty is so good, it covers the knife, not the owner. So it doesn't matter how many times it has been sold or resold (or if have the original receipt) it is still covered. Buy with confidence

What receipt? Every knife I've ordered did not come with one. My wife even really thinks INFI is a good deal at $25 per knife!

While I haven't had a chance of testing out the Busse warranty, I can attest to their excellent customer service.

I had a minor concern about a certain knife that I bought from the Wauseon Group recently, and let's just say that it is being taken care of by one of the top Hogs.. :)

Had a cosmetic issue on a blade. Both Garth and Jerry were on it before I could say, "Slap my mama!"

patrickcudd, I've forged my own sales receipts that I leave in the opened boxes. You're absolutely right. Where else could you get such a nice knife for only $19.99? Just insane. :D

 patrickcudd & guyon, you better hope none of the hogs ever contacts your wives, if they do and offer say $50 per knife, the wives will think they are getting you a good deal! hmmm, why don't you give me their contact info and i will warn them!

BTT. I know a lot of people don't have experience with this kind of thing. Maybe Jerry will chime in. :D :D :D

^^^ what he said!

I think they will refund the original purchase price if it cannot be repaired. Maybe they would offer a similar current model as replacement? I could be wrong. . .

but I think I'm right.
